Lorne Gunter: Anti-Scheer vitriol “staggering” compared to Harper

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On the latest episode of The Ezra Levant Show, Senior Political Columnist Lorne Gunter of the Edmonton Sun called in to talk about the declining popularity of Justin Trudeau and how media and unions are putting pressure on Andrew Scheer.

Gunter describes Justin Trudeau as the hip pool boy who took over from the bland, solid accountant Stephen Harper — but the pool boy's appeal is fading now that you've caught him rummaging through your purse for weed money.

In this clip from the show, Gunter describes Scheer as a “nice enough guy” who will be targeted with even more energy by the left wing compared to how they attacked Harper.

Liz Rosie,

I will vote for Bernier, but I’m really focusing my efforts locally. I supported Chris Warkentin, and I like the guy, but I’ve told his office repeatedly that Scheer needs to find a spine. I will vote for Max, and to hell if I split it.

Greta is the perfect figurehead for a bunch of greedy globalists, greedy fame whoring parents and a bunch of indoctrinated sheep.

Bernier doesn’t back away from the truth, that’s why I’m voting for him. He doesn’t hedge his bets and he’s not middle of the road. I recognise that, and not only appreciate it, I consider it a life line. I’m standing for the guy who has a chance of pulling us out of this sleep walk to edge and over the cliff. You just keep on being you Andrew.

Albertans First, that may very well be the next move. If these globalist totalitarians think we are going to make it easy for them, then they have another thing coming. It’s on.

I really don’t care that the media is doing, they have long lost any credibility.

While I do like Bernier, I really don’t care who wins federally because Canada as a country has been over since at least 1982, they just don’t realize it yet. To be fair it started long before that, but Trudeau Sr really drove a stake through it.

The only answer is a free and independent west.

Andrew Stephenson Canada is not the best, or do you consider CREDIT DOWNGRADES to be a positive thing??? You are lost."

Obviously not, but the Federal ratings have not changed in many years (Ontario was downgraded in December, but that’s a provincial issue and on their premier). The Feds are borrowing at a sustainable rate (as in, the nominal GDP growing 6% a year, and nominal debt by only 4%) which is not concerning.

“Gun control works eh? LMAO!”

I’m not sure the Texas version of “gun control” really deserves the name.

By mentioning Bernier’s tweets about Greta, you did pull the ‘poor little child’ card.
We are all leery of this 16 year old, because of who is directing her and weaponizing her. Sure her parents but Soros is bankrolling her and even taking selfies with her"

Ah, so you buy into Bernier’s foil-hattery. It sounds like more than being “leery”. It sounds like overt terror, at the existence of a powerful political movement that the old guard has no control over. You’re akin to the Chinese government, suddenly having to deal with tremendous counter-pressure that your masters never expected. She’s the perfect figurehead of a group of youthful activists aiming to directly oppose the misplaced nostalgia of the dying Boomer generation and their own orange-haired and half-senile figurehead.

It’s also one of those things that shocks right wingers. Your media tells you that your side is prevailing, that Gen Z is more conservative than any other generation. There’s obviously some hostility as reality intrudes into the fantasy.

I recognize Bernier for what he’s doing, it’s virtue-signaling, he stands for the same dying generation, for the past, for people that haven’t quite come to grips with the world moving beyond them. There’s not any reason to oppose solar power other than to virtue-signal, as it’s a wonderful technology. Nobodys’ trying to put you back in the stone age. Next generation technology is better than the existing versions. I think you all secretly know that, though, again explaining the hostility.

Liz Rosie: yes I have. Indeed, I’ve given the PPC money. But I have not joined the PPC. Why not you ask?

Because they would not let me join unless I gave them my phone number. So tell me, how are they different from the Tories who used to call me repeatedly, night and day, without scruple, until I threatened them with legal action? I think Max is OK, but the joiners and climbers thronging to his party? No, they leave a bad “politician” smell.

Let. It. Burn.

Andrew Stephenson i see our Progressive PM Justin ran away to avoid a native protest , what a racist and a coward. Also please tell me how it benefits Canada to use 42 billion in Chinese steel for projects in CANADA instead of our own Canadian Steel, also consider the amount of emissions created shipping it here. Or is it magic carbon they will be burning?

There is nothing ‘weird’ about Bernier making sure the left knows he isn’t buying their cheap tricks, and that is what weaponizing Greta is, a cheap trick. Its also exploitation, but that’s on the parents heads, they are encouraging it. Now with Soros in the picture mom and Dad will have little to worry about in their golden years or Greta’s future as a cult leader.

We are all leery of this 16 year old, because of who is directing her and weaponizing her. Sure her parents but Soros is bankrolling her and even taking selfies with her. We are on alert because of the way the crazed climate alarmists who run this country are going to use her. We are expected not to fight back because the front is an adolescent girl. Its no different than Hamas using children as human shield’s to try to demonize their foe. Its dirty. It won’t work. Call us what you want.

That 16 year old has been weaponized. You’re damn straight she needs to be called out

I believe that that would be called some sort of “derangement syndrome” were a comparable rant aimed at Trump.

“Pulling the ‘poor little child’ card is a perfect example of how the left plays dirty. Thank you for demonstrating that Andrew.
"
I said nothing of the sort. Thanks for illustrating how the right works.

You don’t find it … odd … that Bernier is so triggered by a 16 year old? It’s almost like he’s scared of her, or her clearly ridiculous ideas that putting solar panels on your roof isn’t actually a hardship.

I’d vote for my local conservative MP, Bob Benzen, despite Scheer being a bribe-taking corruptocrat except for Brexit shenanigans in the UK, in which too many UK Tories turned out to be commie moles and/or unprincipled “climbers”.

I suspect the same is true here. I read Benzen’s twitter feed with mostly disgust. No fire, no fury, no solid principles, complete vapour.

I’m staying home. Let it burn.

Another reason to vote for Bernier, he is nobody’s fool. All the others are puppets for globalists. Any leader who does anything but call out Greta for what she is – a weaponized teenager is going to take this country down just like Trudeau. I could not be more impressed with Bernier’s response to this little huckster.

That 16 year old has been weaponized. You’re damn straight she needs to be called out. We’re not falling for it, Greta should go home and get to school. Canada needs to be protected from her and her handlers. She is Soros’ prodigy, and nothing but unwanted trouble. Go pull that victim crap on someone else. Dangerous is dangerous, it doesn’t matter if it comes in a 16 year old package. You cultists count on us being suckered. Not going to happen with Greta that is for sure. The whole charade is disgusting.

Pulling the ‘poor little child’ card is a perfect example of how the left plays dirty. Thank you for demonstrating that Andrew.

Nick, I agree. I don’t see how Bernier could not have some positive effect on the country’s chances of remaining strong and free”

Yes, his twitter fights with a 16 year old sure do illustrate effective social policy.

The world probably would have been better in the long term had the Brits followed your advice, although the Anglo-Saxons themselves were originally Germanic and substantially displaced the earlier indigenous Celtic populations.

Dubious. Many countries had, and have, no net sovereign debt. Canada remains the best of the G7, even after factoring in provincial debt.

Its true Bruce. When has the Conservative party ever had ads as cut throat as the Liberals? The liberals complain about the ‘lack of civility’ yet they are the dirtiest fighters around.

I have voted Conservative as long as i have Voted ,I joined the Reform movement when Joe Cluck and his gang of pink incompetents repeatedly fumbled the ball, Reform got the CP back on track, but it veered after the Quebec dairymen imposed Scheer on us as a move to protect their supply management scam. Now I view Bernier as another method of clearing out the pink slime infesting the Conservative party and returning to Conservatism. I will Vote PPC even though we will probably get the Turd back in. another election cycle with Berniers input from the sidelines might be the permanent undoing of the liberal party and an ouster for Scheer our almost liberal leader. Better that than choosing between the turd and scheerly dimples

I voted for Scheer for the leadership pick, gave the party money. I was afraid Bernier wouldn’t be accepted because he was from Quebec. I made a mistake. I hope Conservatives don’t make the same mistake this Oct.

Someone previously said that the PPC was more than just an alternative party, that it was a movement. I believe that, and its growing by the minute.
May is an alarmist nut, Singh does not put Canada first calls everybody a racist and hangs out with Khalistani troublemakers, Justin is a communist and a globalist and Scheer is an opportunist, an empty shell it turns out and even he has forsaken us. The way I look at it is while the msm are busy over there tearing a new one for Scheer, Berner will come up from the rear and make his way to the front. Scheer or Justin…. its going to be bad either way with out a PPC influence in there somewhere somehow.
