On last night's show, Edmonton Sun Senior Columnist Lorne Gunter joined me the Belgian state visit to Canada that turned into Justin Trudeau's latest international embarrassment.
What originally should've been a cordial meeting between two friendly nations turned into a series of unforced errors by the Trudeau government.
To begin with:
Trudeau wasn't even present to meet with the Belgian royals because he was in Florida on a family vacation.
Later it was revealed that members of Trudeau's beloved public service had tied Canadian and GERMAN flags to a tree planted to commemorate the liberation of Belgium during World War One — gaffe that could've been avoided with a simple Google search.
WATCH my interview with Lorne to see how the CBC ran defense for Trudeau and why Stephen Harper would've never gotten away with this.
