Lorne Gunter: Government regulations killed Greyhound

On last night's show, Guest host David Menzies and Edmonton Sun columnist Lorne Gunter discussed the real reasons Greyhound is scrapping bus service across Western Canada.

Lorne explained how regulations imposed by provincial governments forced Greyhound to use large expensive vehicles on low demand routes that could adequately be served by vans and shuttles.

They don’t want any conveniences for those living in small towns. Any time the government gets involved is cause for concern.

You nailed it Deborah. Like the old gag, “I’m from the government and I’m here to help you”. Disaster follows as surely as night the day. And the NDP always want to subsidize the failure the Gov’t created.
