Lorne Gunter: Trudeau's carbon tax costs Canada $10B in GDP

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On last night's show, Sun columnist Lorne Gunter joined me to discuss the impact Justin Trudeau's carbon tax will have on the Canadian economy.

According to a report from the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO), Canada's GDP is estimated to be reduced by $10 billion by 2022 when the carbon tax reaches the Liberal mandated $50 per-tonne.

WATCH my interview with Lorne to see how Environment Minister Catherine McKenna has avoided telling Canadians the true impact of the carbon tax, and how the impact it will have on Canada's GDP could be even worse than the PBO report indicates.

I love that cover shot of the Boy Blunder!… Some entrepreneur is missing a golden opportunity to market “Justin’s Nose Dill Pickles” using just that…

The UN’s goal is to steal the wealth and resources of Canadians, while conquering Canada for Islam, by using their army of faux refugees to burden us with their keep. They have become the masters and we have become their slaves. Junior already signed the deed over prior to the election, when they targeted him as their puppet. He sold his own soul when he acted against our people and our country. His first action was to declare Canada the first post national state, and to remove our Queen’s portrait from parliament. Every thing he’s done has been against Canada, and Canadians. When you don’t have a conscience and are selfish and self-centered to your core, it’s easy to destroy a country. He’s just too stupid to realize that there will be consequences on judgement day!

“Let let them eat cake” right Andrew..!!

Andrew Stevenson.. your word salad is dry… Normal people know there being gouged so fuck off.. "

Normal people “know” a lot of things, but common knowledge isn’t always objectively correct.

Who is responsible for that gouging? Let’s see, gas is up 7 cents (it’s actually up by about 25 cents where I am, over the last two weeks), right? How much have taxes increased over that time?

You guys must think climate Barbie is a rocket scientist . That a very tough question on how much it will change the climate . She has a hard enough time trying to pick out a dress and high heals to ride her bike to work . More tax revenue for Trudeau to blow .

$1.30.9

Yeah, and that’s for the garbage with the ethanol in it, and diesel fuel is even worse. I bought some of that bio diesel last year for my acreage tractor and I ended up throwing it away because it was so full of water.

$1.30 a litre..
Alberta/Canada floats on oil and yet we pay like it’s scarce and imported.!!!

It may be costing the country $10 billion a year but gas in my town April 25 just went up by nine cents a litre.. because of this and other things associated with the carbon tax I’m pretty sure the NDP will not be reelected but will Jason Kenney like the windfall of money or will he do the right thing and repeal all these dangerous taxes.

Our natural gas bill for heating in the winter is now more than double what it was before the carbon tax, and it’s only at 30 dollars a ton. When they get rid of coal and switch to gas for electricity and heat, and it goes to fifty a ton, there is no way in the world we’ll be staying in Alberta through the winter months. There is just no way in the world that many people will be able to afford it. This is how the genocidal killers murder so many every year in the UK. They should be tired and executed for genocide.

Going back 5 years trailing, Canada’s total GDP has grown by about 300b, from 1943b in 13Q4, to 2179b in 17Q4. Cumulative GDP in that time was about 10,200b.
(Statscan, Cansim 380-0064, current dollars, gross domestic at market prices).

That means, that the 10b “cost” over five years, is about 1/1000 of total GDP expected over the timeframe, which is less than the statistical error on that measurement.
