It was a packed house when People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier visited Toronto on November 14th for a rally. And he received huge ovations for promises ranging from defunding the CBC to ending Canada’s financial contributions to the United Nations.
Yes, attendees at the rally for Mad Max in Etobicoke cheered Bernier’s speech.
Why?
Two words: conservative values.
Absolutely Ron. Max has set the values/principals which the PPC will stand by. Everything and everyone else has to fit within that envelope.
How are MPs elected? Electors vote for a candidate in their riding. Then the Party leader can veto that choice if they see fit. I trust that only happens in extreme cases, but that should ensure the integrity of the representatives. If the leadership has a hard and fast integrity I would hope corruption will be held at bay. What else does a party have to work with, to keep out the infiltrators who would try to use their power to manipulate policy. As Bernier says, “start your own party” if you don’t like our principals. MPs will have to make a pledge, and I imagine if they break that pledge, they are out.
14 hrs ago Liza said, "Bernier has said from the beginning that everyone is welcome, but there are caveats. “You have to fit the PPC,” not the other way around. So, be sure you know what the man stands for before you join. "
“YOU HAVE TO FIT THE PPC”——-Who decides this? Max has to, not the members.
Otherwise a minority group (in this case Muslims) can stack the deck, meaning hundreds pay their $10.00 membership, put their guy in and his policies take over the Riding, or even the Party.
This is EXACTLY what happened in the CPC Leadership race where the Dairy Farmers got together (with their aunts and uncles, mothers and fathers) and joined a Party that they would have never even voted for just to put Scheer in and more important KEEP ANTI-SUPPLY-MANAGEMENT BERNIER OUT. This is why Benier is not the leader of CPC.
All I am saying is Bernier and his Lieutenants have to keep corruption out of the party.
-————-Oh yeah they will! Which is why there is no use trying to be nice. They should be treated like the lying paid off entitled vermin that they are and cut loose. Anyone of any salt there will survive, all sorts of other networks would pop up, and who knows, maybe they could actually become an asset to the country with truthful reporting and a little proper competition, not government subsidies. Their union should be abolished from the country. I am sick and tired of paying the salaries and pensions of the likes of that trough feeder Wendy Mesley and I suspect so are most Canadians.
It doesn’t say in the book to vote for “apostates” it says to kill them. "
-————-Ron are not the candidates chosen in each riding by the members, not Max ? Also did Max not say everyone gets treated the same, no pandering , no identity politics? Forget about ethnicity, colour, or community. People who represent the PPC will all have the same responsibilities and obligations to all communities and all Canadians. No identity politics whatsoever as far as I can understand.
However even with campaigning to cut the CBC budget, the CBC will attack Bernier with extreme venom and seething hatred which will grow in intensity as he gets more support and the federal election in October 2019 approaches.
If Max could comment here, I believe he would say that if he put up a Minority Candidate, he would do it so the like Minorities would “vote” for him or her.
It doesn’t say in the book to vote for “apostates” it says to kill them.
Maybe I am thinking about Pakistan and Asia Bibi.
Not just to certain values like his four principles but also that he they must fully support his platform which is pretty well laid out (from his leadership campaign). They might have trouble with his immigration policy.
If you mean that to be the policy of the Conservative Party of Canada, you are wrong. In 2017 Conservative MP Brad Trost had a private member’s bill to privatize the CBC which was soundly defeated (something like 266-6) with only 5 other members of his caucas voting for his bill!
What you are suggesting will never happen. I personally would welcome any member, but would prefer only second generation Canadians from anywhere of any persuasion were eligible to become actual members of Parliament. That aside, as I know it is only wishful thinking, I accept that careful screening of candidates will suffice and I trust Bernier’s prerequisites will ensure sound candidates will be put forward. Bernier has said from the beginning that everyone is welcome, but there are caveats. You have to fit the PPC, not the other way around. So, be sure you know what the man stands for before you join.
When he said stop the 5 Billion to the UN, I started clapping. I was a little embarrassed as I was alone.
This Party could be a gift that keeps on giving.

to me
Keith,
A poll released yesterday shows 74% of Canadians oppose StatsCan’s outrageous plan to obtain our banking records without our consent.
I’m sure you too believe this is unacceptable.
The agency says they need these data to “better understand consumer behaviour and trends.”
But why would the government need to know how you spend your money every day, unless they want to control our economy and our lives even more?
Big Brother is just another manifestation of Big Government.
The plan has temporarily been put on hold, while the Privacy Commissioner examines it.
But you can be sure the bureaucrats will come back with their demands. The Trudeau Liberals support them of course.
Keith, help the People’s Party fight back against this gross invasion of your privacy by contributing $7.40, or $74 if you can, today.
Many thanks for your support,
-Max.
