Police identify suspect who allegedly shot at several police officers as 51-year-old Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty.
Around 4 p.m., a series of shots was fired at a Capitol Police car at Third and State streets in Harrisburg. That was followed with two other shootings: one at Fifth and Market streets and the other at 17th and Mulberry streets.
Police shot and killed 51-year-old Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty, identifying him as the man behind all three shootings. Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico said that police were targeted by El-Mofty.

Marsico said that “it was no doubt that he was directly targeting police officers.”
Marsico said that he has tied to both the east and west shores and asked that any familiar with him contact 911.
Marisco added that El-Mofty had chased the Pennsylvania state trooper that was shot in the 5th and Market street shooting, and that she is in good condition.
