“I'm nobody's handmaid!” Unhinged pro-choice protesters converge on Toronto March for Life

David MenziesMission Specialist

Pro-life and pro-choice protesters recently staged demonstrations at Queen’s Park in Toronto.

Care to guess which group was polite and able to articulate its position — and which group devolved into a vortex of vulgarity and profanity?

Meanwhile, Sheila Gunn Reid attended the March for Life in Edmonton, Alberta, where there were fewer pro-abortion protesters (although one did stalk her...):

And Keean Bexte travelled to Philadelphia to witness a large pro-life protest outside the Planned Parenthood clinic where serial harasser (and Democratic politician) Brian Sims infamously videotaped himself insulting and threatening women and teens who were praying outside:

“most civilized countries” don’t have the Morgentaler rulings, which in essence rule any regulation automatically unconstitutional. Canada thus has, among the strongest individual-autonomy laws in the world).

Andrew(a)…let me tell you about Henry Morganthaler having a bad day….he came to his clinic to find that his wife/receptionist was gone…she had taken the kid…she went far away so that he could not fight it…she had convinced him to shelter much of the profit of the clinic in art works…which she took with her leaving him little in liquid cash to fight back…she had come to despise him…just like EVERBODY else who actually knew him…the phone was ringing…he picked up the phone and said “MORGANTHALER ABORTION CLINICYOU RAPE EM….WE SCRAPE EM…NO FETUS CAN BEAT US”….the first time I heard this story I thought it was a cynical joke….but no….he was in fact an elephant calibur asshole….that’s your hero Andrea.

No innocent human should ever be killed. “Personhood” is a legal construct to protect the wealth of the patriarchy. When one has to resort to mental gymnastic and semantics they have shown their argument is fallacious.

ANDREW STEPHENSON

The Supreme Court ruling underlying that, in essence, states that in cases of competing interests of mother vs. fetus (as in, being aborted vs being forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy), the mother takes priority.
-—————————————-
Another lie. All the Supreme Court said is that that particular law was unconstitutional. It told the government of the day it should go back and rework it but our politicians are all too gutless. What you read into it is irrelevant and of no consequence in law.

Why do you want to believe and promulgate lies?

“Andrew, this is a point of legal sophistry that many people just don’t get…the word “person” is derived from the Latin “persona” which means “mask” and is in reference to the practice in classical Greek theatre of actors holding a mask in front of their face to represent “the role being played”…and so the scriptures say “God is no respecter of persons” and fools who don’t know what they are talking about say “have you accepted Jesus as your PERSONAL saviour?” which is like asking “has Jesus saved your fireman’s parade uniform”

Cautious incrementalist Stephen Harper made it explicitly illegal to kill or abandon to death a newborn because technically you are not a “person” until the ink is dry on your birth certificate…and there was no grounds to prosectute prior to him drawing the line there.

My suggestion to those who wish to thwart this legal sophistry is to legally define a societal role to the unborn and thereby make them “persons”….nothing a little ink and a good vocabulary can’t fix"

The Supreme Court ruling underlying that, in essence, states that in cases of competing interests of mother vs. fetus (as in, being aborted vs being forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy), the mother takes priority. As a side effect it did define a fetus as not having full legal personhood. The semantics are essentially irrelevant – the ruling is rather clear that the woman’s rights take precedent no matter what you call the fetus.

At birth, such conflicting interests become moot – the mother is no longer pregnant. Harper could indeed do that without running afoul of previous court rulings. (In practice, a number of births go unreported for any number of reasons, many of which are a product of difficult situations; a woman found with a dead infant is very rarely charged with infanticide as it’s usually the end result of a very difficult situation rather than simple malevolence)

“The outcry is getting louder, and the days of our politicians being too chicken or lazy to allow the issue to be reopened are over.”

The “outcry” is loud, but the actual number of pro-lifers in Canada is rather small, and not a swing-constituency. The centrist vote, who actually decides elections, is uninterested in reopening the debate, insofar as it’s possible to (again, “most civilized countries” don’t have the Morgentaler rulings, which in essence rule any regulation automatically unconstitutional. Canada thus has, among the strongest individual-autonomy laws in the world).

The unborn’s societal role is that of future Canadian citizen. ( We need to clarify the definition of Canadian citizen, Just because you were dropped here should not automatically make you one.).
We need abortion laws. Most civilized countries have them., although the left is pushing to undermine those in some states in the U.S.
No restriction on termination is barbaric.
A complete ban on abortion would be impossible.
The outcry is getting louder, and the days of our politicians being too chicken or lazy to allow the issue to be reopened are over.

Well…by my own standards….to suggest is to volunteer…..no doubt there are great legal minds who could and might help…

I will certainly work on doing just that…it’s the least I can do….

Call it whatever you will or justify it however you want or use the terminology that it is a “choice”, but the truth that cannot be altered through any justification is that it is murder of an unborn child. https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/7-images-that-prove-the-humanity-of-preborn-children

Disappointed in the title of this thread which uses the term pro-choice instead of pro-abortion/termination of life. Let these miscreants use their phoney euphemism but we should never use their deceptive language.”

Pro choice isn’t pro abortion. The pro-choice movement doesn’t tell you to have an abortion, just to have the option available so you have the choice. If you want to bear it to term, that’s your prerogative. If you don’t, same. Our position is that it’s your choice and yours alone.

The pro-life movement wants that choice taken away. Which is to say, the pro-life movement is anti-choice, but the pro-choice movement is not anti-life.

We used to have restrictions. There is no good reason to not at least have some restrictions. It is barbaric not to have any. "

In broad terms, restrictions are probably unconstitutional, in essence a) the state cannot infringe upon your bodily autonomy and b) the fetus is not legally a person with its own such rights. That leaves very little space for legislation.

In fact, the struck-down laws are still on the books, Trudeau’s attempt to remove thm criminal code fell by the wayside. At any rate, criminal code does still prohibit abortion, although it’s completely unenforceable.

At any rate, your likeliest allies on this, including Kenney, Moe, Ford, Scheer, and Bernier, have all said that they are not interested in the issue.

If anyone is handmaid, it is Margret Atwood. The story was originally supposed to be about islam but she “didn’t want to offend them”- i.e. afraid they would kill her.

Margaret Atwood: islam’s handmaid.

" What the hell happened since the 70’s?"
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Well Robert, as you may remember back about this time women like your mother had to get up early in the morning, tie their hair in a top knot pony tail, get down on their hands and knees, stick their head in a mop bucket and then await further orders. Then…all of a sudden….the ones who had their hair cut short enough to perform their pre-feminist role as toilet brushes staged a mutiny and went to law school….and now here we are…..:-)

WOW!! There’s some really strange stuff going on in TO theses days… Back in the early 70’s, I would hop a Bus in Mississauga, then hop on a Subway to Yonge Street, just to hang around and watch some guy beating his head against a Light Post… Just for kicks… What the hell happened since the 70’s?

Just as a response to the assertion “I am nobody’s handmaid” ….Hagar herself was nowhere near as powerless as Margaret Atwood would have you believe. I have met women…matriarchs…of the newly arrived “Old Order Mennonite” community here on PEI…they dress like the straw women in this feminist fable…and let me assure you…they are confident dynamic “brook no bullshit” women…they are nobody’s handmaid either.

Wow Sheila, did I hear right, again that all BS quote of the uninformed “all life is precious, from the cradle to the grave”. Are these pinheads ever going to get it. It’s not the children that might be born that some of us have a problem with, It’s that those pinheads think they deserve the right to raise them to be just like them. Just how many ***************Trudopes do we need?.

David, there is soooo much to be said here, but it would be completely wasted on the trolls. The one thing I do want to say my good man, is that you have the most patience of any one “ever”. Whatever you get, to do what you do, it’s nowhere near enough. But thank GOD you’re out there doing it. God bless.

Thanks for filling in the blanks Glenn. I was definitely curious. Your comment was begging an ask. Yes I know the story of the Butterbox babies. It sounds similar to a movie I just watched entitled The Cider House Rules. It was a also a story of abortions discreetly done, often for the well to do, and burials on site. It was an orphanage, in the movie that I am referencing and not exactly a maternity home.
Hells Half Acre is a fitting title. I look forward to reading it Glenn.

…any male child that came of that union was to be sacrificed to Baal the god of prosperity…
-—————————————
A very good analogy, Glenn. We are simply modern Baal worshippers. We will sacrifice anything for what we perceive as prosperity. That is why the Book of Revelation says so much about the desire for wealth being the root of so much evil:

9 “And the kings of the earth, who committed acts of immorality and lived sensuously with her, will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’

11 “And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargoes any more— 12 cargoes of gold and silver and precious stones and pearls and fine linen and purple and silk and scarlet, and every kind of citron wood and every article of ivory and every article made from very costly wood and bronze and iron and marble, 13 and cinnamon and spice and incense and perfume and frankincense and wine and olive oil and fine flour and wheat and cattle and sheep, and cargoes of horses and chariots and SLAVES AND HUMAN LIVES. 14 The fruit you long for has gone from you, and all things that were luxurious and splendid have passed away from you and men will no longer find them. 15 The merchants of these things, who became rich from her, will stand at a distance because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning, 16 saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, she who was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls; 17 for in one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!’ And every shipmaster and every passenger and sailor, and as many as make their living by the sea, stood at a distance, 18 and were crying out as they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What city is like the great city?’ 19 And they threw dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had ships at sea became rich by her wealth, for in one hour she has been laid waste!’ 20 Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her.”

Here is a great sermon on this chapter:

Liza, the cops have been there already….these are “butter box” babies from the Ideal Maternity Home. Read the book if you can get a copy.

I’m planning to write a book about it under the title Hell’s Half Acre.

This saga is ongoing and being stonewalled every step of the way. Some very embarassing history involving some very powerfull people could be revealed.

The owner of that home was a very religious woman who took pride in how many live births she midwifed and how many kids she got adopted….but it would seem that there is a threshold where if you are unwanted enough they will get rid of you….it’s just a question of where is that line drawn.

Feminism is really a religious gnosticism with a code of good and evil more strict than any traditional theology. Abortion is the feminists’ primary station of the cross. To gain admission to the inner sanctum of the sh-ite hierophants, a woman must be willing to perform the sacrament, It is a rite of passage. Some women admit as much….

..Those who do sacrifice the fruit of their bodies for this vision, or for the gods of their own personal convenience-career, pleasure, the desire to express themselves, empower themselves, be themselves, be “equal” or whatever-tend to fit the fanatical profile. They are by their own admission(in studies written by feminists) hostile, alienated, frightened, desperate, and often incoherent.

The left are getting more insane by the day…someone should put them out of our misery…like they want to murder babies…why couldn’t we use the same excuse for murdering them as they use for wanting to murder babies in the womb…and especially now that they want to murder babies and other young children when they’re out of the womb…and old sick people…and conservatives.
I didn’t get to two minutes on Sheila’s video because the speaker on the PA that someone chose to record a video during, overpowered Sheila’s oration.
I watched all of Keean’s video…So what, you guys flipped a coin and Keean got to interview the sane people?

Pro-life sure does express what the movement is about better than pro-choice. The latter are pro-infanticide.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Exactly Bruce…no living thing kills it’s own young as an exercise in “choice”….if it happens it is concession to perceived necessity and calling it choice is militant cynicism.

The Baal cult would take their virgin daughters to the temple where they were made to prostitute themselves to a stranger and donate the proceeds to the temple…any male child that came of that union was to be sacrificed to Baal the god of prosperity (who was himself the trophy child of a king who died an untimely death and longed for company in Heaven).

The pre-christian Greeks (and Romans) would abandon unwanted children by the roadside…pre-christian celts could kill their children at ANY time up to when they could fend off their parents and fend for themselves…

My brother has the bodies of eight (that we know of) unwanted children buried on his land…but that story would be an embarassment to some powerfull and well connected liberals….
