Mark Cameron, in his own words: Carbon tax won't change climate

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

Last week I brought you the story that Jason Kenney had appointed a carbon tax propagandist named Mark Cameron to be his deputy minister in the policy office.

The appointment of Mark Cameron from the carbon tax lobby group, Canadians for Clean Prosperity, flies in the face of the anti-carbon tax, pro-business agenda that swept Jason Kenney and his UCP into power in Alberta just a few short weeks ago.

In that video, I showed you how Mark Cameron has ties through his organization to the very people who fund Tides Canada. I made the case for Jason Kenney to fire Mark Cameron, and replace him with a policy wonk more aligned with the values of Albertans.

But that was me making the case.

Today I'll let Mark Cameron tell you why Mark Cameron shouldn't be working for an anti-carbon tax government.

In 2016, Mark Cameron sat down for a bit of a debate with Ezra on his nightly Ezra Levant Show.

Today I'll show you some of that interview and you can hear from Mark Cameron in his own words. He readily admits that he doesn't think tax and Canadians will affect the weather, but he wants a Canadian carbon tax anyway.

Cameron also admits that he was a pro-carbon tax registered lobbyist in Alberta during Rachel Notley's time in power.

I'm cheering for Jason Kenney to hit the ground running and undo all the damage the NDP has done to Alberta over the past 4 years. That means choosing the right people for the job. Cameron is not that person.

By the way, I’m sure that Kenney’s communications staff monitor everything that appears on The Rebel on a daily basis, so I hope somebody on his staff has the guts to shove this commentary under his nose…

This hiring fiasco on Kenney’s part is crucial to how Canadians are going to vote in the coming months…. The sheer cynicism of hiring the likes of Cameron, so soon after an overwhelming protest vote in Alberta, spits in the face of conservative Canadians wanting true change… A BIG, BIG BAD MISTAKE on Kenney’s part and that’s why more and more “reality based” voters are signing up with the PPC from coast to coast, marginal as it may be for now…

You won’t be able to get this traitorous, fool, idiot fired after Kenney has brought him in. Probably all planned long before Kenney won the Premiership. Just goes to show you, where you can go in life when you are willing to suck. I can’t think of any other logical reason for Kenney to hire Carbon Tax Boy. They are probably just buddies in the same sense as Trudeau and Butts. Two little Bum Buddies. So Kenney starts to reveal himself for what he really is. And the Betrayal Begins.

Lance Hodge is correct. Spend and then tax is tired old saw of Liberals. And they always trot out that “it’s for the kids”. What they fail to mention is the huge debt they’re racking up for the kids to pay off. Given their choice, would the kids rather get a sweet inheritance which is not taxable from their parents and grand parents or the burden of a debt from all those accumulated deficits?

In 11.5 years when we are not dead from global warming they will still be beating this dead horse . No climate model other than the Russian’s one comes close to the truth about temperatures period . By then we will be poorer and our country will suffer . Not that any of these fat cats will feel the pain . There is nothing scientific to support their claims . USA is not buying in so I guess Canada will be the country to save mother earth . Trudeau has a better chance of having a period .

Once again the Liberals prove out pocketbooks are the target while using the hoax that Climate change is happening because of man while we all know Climate change was happening before Urg & Ugg lit their first fire in cave 109, dinosaur avenue.

Absolutely right , Al and Andy.
Hiring Cameron is sending mixed messages, and since everyone has just about finished pulling their business out of Alberta and indeed Canada, this hiring will wipe out any confidence initially gained. If this is how serious Kenney is about his promises, we may still be in deep do do. Are his promises just for show because he knows he hasn’t really the power to keep them? I sure hope I am wrong. He needs to explain why he thought that hire was a good idea in the first place.

Once again climate change is the biggest scam invented, why is Canada supposed to take it up the ass over climate change while the rest of the world continues on their merry way?
VIRTUE SIGNALLING! The plaything of the Leftist elites.

I wonder if the people of Alberta, or indeed the rest of Canada, realize what “message” this sends scant days after Kenney was elected to turn the tide? What? Business as usual? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink politics and “we know what’s best for you”.. Kenney better come to grips with this RIGHT NOW, and I do mean RIGHT NOW about the kind of people he has on his staff, or there is going to be Hell To Pay!… The pent up frustration of Western Canada is not an “illusion”!… There will be consequences, just as the Alberta election results showed, and Kenney’s choice of staff is as important as The Smiling Chipmunk’s…

Except that C02 causing warming has been debunked, Cameron. Carbon dioxide = green. Carbon monoxide and other pollutants are another thing. FYI, the biggest green house gas is H20.
Carbon tax=revenue stream for omnipotent politicians. The climate hoax is nothing but a tax grab. Cameron is not the guy for the position Jason.
Sheila, stellar show.

C. White, social license is used dishonestly by agenda driven politicians. Entertaining the codswallop is a long road to nowhere, where nothing is ever accomplished. Kenny needs to deep six Cameron.

How about just pay down the debt lessening the tax burden on Canadians. We don’t pay down squat and the debt keeps going up and billions of dollars sent overseas on interest. It’s like living off credit cards and only paying off interest and not paying principle all the while borrowing more on debt and raising the cards limit to higher levels. Who thinks this way except people who will eventually unequivocally go bankrupt. Lunacy, treasonous, and morally wrong to pass on our debt to our future generations burdening and making life difficult for them. It’s simply very very wrong and shame on Ottawa.

Profoundly stupid move on Kenney’s part. This is the kind of news of hypocrisy the MSM will pounce on, if they haven’t already.

I have a solution how we can use our money for the environment: put paper money, or cheques will do, in your composter.
Isn’t that helping the environment better than giving it to Justin?

Isn’t it hilarious in relation to climate change that the UN keeps coming out with reports that the world is heating nonstop, species are going extinct and blah blah. This propaganda machine should be wiped out period ,and why is it that we must act now before 2030, is it to syphon all this cash for the UN’s agenda 2030?

It does appear contradictory to hire Mark Cameron if Kenny promised to ditch the carbon tax.

Time will tell if Kenny holds to his victory speech. If he does, then who he hires is irrelevant.

Once again climate change is the biggest scam invented, why is Canada supposed to take it up the ass over climate change while the rest of the world continues on their merry way. Why would Kenney associate with someone like this,is it the theory of keep your friends close and your enemies closer? All Albertans eyes are on Kenney and all I can say is he better not pull a slim shady!!! We don’t need anymore political BS in this province,we need action!!!

I was afraid something like this would happen with Jason Kenny leading the UCP. Brian Jean wouldn’t have made this stupid appointment. How frustrating it is when a politician is in power rather than a real human being.

But maybe Cameron is the token environment socialist hostage to Kenney’s redefinition of social license, just like the four big oil sands executives were to Notley. In short, maybe he is hoping for some crumbs. Might even be an informant. Certainly he is looking out for #1.

I appreciate the heads up, as always, from Ms Gunn-Reid.

However, I will wait to see all the legislation introduced in a couple of weeks. This is the defining session for Kenney.

If ENGOs are targeted, no problem. If not, then Ms G-R proves correct as she usually does.

A thieving carbon tax isn’t suppose to change climate, it’s suppose to raise money for government, so they can fill their pockets and the pockets of their friends. With the traitor Trudeau, he plans to hand it over to his friends at the UN for their world government who are demanding six trillion a year.

Ask Kenney or Cameron to address those concerns on your show. If they refuse, they are hiding their true objectives. They can’t keep hiding (by order of Trudeau’s leftist MSM) from the Rebel, it doesn’t work anymore. Many Fed MPs and Prov MLAs, CPC, Lib, and NDP, are speaking to Rebel reporters, so that excuse no longer has merit.
