Maxime Bernier hires former anti-oil sands activist

Keean BexteRebel Contributor

Peoples Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier has hired a fossil fuel divestor as an Electoral District Association (EDA) coordinator in his national party office.

Daniel Tyrie authored this opinion piece for The Waterloo Region Record — an opinion piece that shares many talking points with the eco-radicals you see on campuses these days — demanding the University of Waterloo pull more than $68 million out of “polluting companies” like Shell, British Petroleum, and Exxon Mobil.

At a time when oil companies are fleeing Alberta, like the US-based Devon Energy, companies like BP own three oil sands assets in the Athabasca basinMaxime Bernier has a staffer working for him that wanted companies operating in the oil sands to tank.

Alberta has a tough time being represented in Ottawa. Confederation has systematically oppressed the West, from equalization to the number of seats they have in Parliament – they are the country’s underdog. It’s part of the reason Alberta has been so excited about Maxime – he won the CPC leadership vote in Alberta by a landslide, he swept Calgary, most of Edmonton, and split the rural vote with Scheer.

But now we are seeing something different: Maxime Bernier —the "Albertan from Quebec" — hired an anti-oil sands activist, Tyrie worked closely with Fossil Free UW, a campus club hell-bent on stopping pipelines and suffocating Alberta. Bernier’s staff now features someone who believed — just eleven months ago — that because the University of Waterloo has money in energy investments, that it is “responsible for devastating our climate and our future.”

I contacted Daniel Tyrie about this, and he told me that he has since changed and that he was caught up in a sort of undergraduate climate hysteria. Tyrie said, “[He] now views fossil fuels and pipelines in particular as necessary for both economic stability and national unity in Canada.”

The PPC told The Rebel that they were not aware of the article written by Tyrie at the time he was hired. They added that Tyrie was with Maxime at the recent United We Roll convoy in Ottawa, and:

“There is no reason to doubt his beliefs, which in any case cannot have any impact on PPC policies as he is only involved on the organizational side and not on policies.”

Funny. I seem to remember stating that Bernier would be like all Quebecers seeking to be P/M. That they are also going to become co-Premiers of Quebec. Got taken to task by Rebel posters, including some below who now feel betrayed, which is fair in an opinion dialogue so no hard feelings.

Point is that any Quebec federal politician is first a provincial politician. One thing to be said about the B/Q is they are honest about that fact.

Only thing for Albertans is to focus only on the Provincial election to turf the Laurentian wannabe NDP. Then work on the federalist Kenney to follow through on the equalization referendum, preferably during the federal election.

Scheer is not a globalist. It’s not what the conservative party stands for.
commented 2019-03-07 19:46:06 -0500
Yes. Scheer 2019 all the way.
commented 2019-03-07 19:42:32 -0500
Charred Remains. Scheer pledged to remove the GST, not the carbon tax, from home heating. Scheer has also pledged to kill Trudeau’s carbon tax. The paris agreement is non binding so there is no legal requirement to pay the global carbon tax. If you look at the cpc web site you will see they are opposed to carbon taxation.
commented 2019-03-07 19:32:56 -0500
And now on the very same channel I’m watching our globalist Andrew sheer saying the very first thing he’s going to do if elected is remove the carbon tax on heating Canadian homes but he didn’t say anything else about removing it all together and he knows he doesn’t have to because the signed to the Paris climate accord and he probably won’t touch the UN agreement either and less he’s pressured.. The only way out is independence .!!!

Charred , I agree and have been for Alberta independence for a very long time . I have always hated the fact we have always been Canada’s little bitch and I for one is sick of the retardation of federal politicians . They have always been corrupt and always will be no matter who’s in power . They can have little dicktator and his UN Globalization scheme as for Albertans , No Thanks !!!! Alberta for separation !!!!!

Ron Christiansen after just watching what I watched on CBC and the comment below we can’t de-confederate fast enough.!!! Quebec media to out right lie like that must hold the western provinces in such contempt it is beyond explanation as it couldn’t be further from the truth.!! I’ve never seen anything that would compare with our news people telling a federal story in my province of Alberta.!! At the same time they are practically describing a different story that we’re watching on the justice committee making butts a hero and Justin is a revelation of his father. If he’s part of that that hates us so much then I think he’s actually hidden it very well compared to what he would like to do while laughing out loud.. we are absolutely hated beyond anything I can explain and I wish somebody else on here would’ve seen that on the program I watch on CBC just 10 minutes ago. It was in French with English verbal translation not subtitles.

Liza.. I am watching on CBC right now as they’re talking about SNC, Justin Trudeau and the ROC… Quebec TV is selling Quebec voters this about SNC.. they want to know why the west is so mad and they’re holding Trudo to such accounting because “why shouldn’t he help SNC… He brought a pipeline for the west didn’t he “..?? I couldn’t believe it I simply couldn’t believe it… Like we get anything from that pipeline that he bought and they’re (media) making it sound like he spent $4.5 billion on Alberta .!!! I can’t imagine what other conspiracies quebec has been playing against the rest of Canada for all this time but this is one that I saw… I’m wondering what Trudo told them .?

I will still vote PPC in the next federal election even though Canada’s done in my opinion . Western separation is the only way forward . Trudeau was voted in by Quebec , Toronto , the maritime provinces and the left coast so let them live with their decision to elect the most corrupt government in history . Alberta needs to leave , nothing more and nothing less !

Sorry should be addressed to Alberta NDP are toast, not Glenn Craig.

Muta.. Really… Are you kidding me .. are you telling me there’s not people here that could do that. Provide the logistics necessary to be experts in their area and their fields.. Seriously… I could say that I don’t have all the answers but I’m sure there’s enough people out there in a province full of lawyers that would like a brand new start in a fresh country that’s not being exploited by a central power.. I don’t think that we’d have a problem filling the jobs with local talent considering we’re a province full of World class engineers and tradespeople.. Alberta is a first world country with expert people knowledgable in their fields…we’re not a bunch of knuckle dragging rednecks out here… Maybe I don’t have all the answers myself but I’m sure that we could find in this province of Alberta the men and women necessary, that have the knowledge to do this and to draft a constitution that would represent us as a new country… And if everybody liked the constitution enough to vote 51% or better on it we have a new country and everybody that wants to stay just keep doing what they’re doing and the rest of it just works itself out as/when required.!! This is a tremendous opportunity not something to be afraid of .!!!

Glenn Craig I listened to that pod cast about Bernier. I found it to be very informative and it confirms everything I’ve thought about revenge seeking Bernier from the start. Everybody should be aware that according to the guest on this pod cast Bernier signed a document that said he would not run against the conservative party in 2019. Nice to know there’s movements out there to purge the ppc from the political realm.

Charred Remains , How is the effort going to form a new provincial police force and retire the Mounties?

If nothing else, Max is forcing the CPC back over to the right. The CPC’s problem is, they only ever act out of fear. Not sustainable in a party, but could work in the short term if need be.
I am voting for Max, but anything could happen as far as results go.

Alberta may leave, but it won’t be anytime soon. There are a lot of things that need to be banged out and put in place before such a move could have any chance of survival. There will be wolves out there ready to take advantage and hoover the west up. We can’t just separate this instant, because we are frustrated and want to. We have to be realistic.

Remember this report from Keean? He is doing his job.
So will Max -
“When asked in Quebec as to what he wouid do to build a pipeline in face of opposition from Quebec, Bernier said he wouid do his best to negotiate and failing that he would use the federal powers under the constitution to make it happen.”
commented 2019-03-07 17:10:40 -0500
Having said that I wouldn’t rag on anyone voting CPC, far too many people I know plan to unfortunately, but that is their choice. Barring full on SJW, I am voting for the new guy who is going to respect the Constitution and de centralize this vast country so that it can function the way it was meant to.

Alberta NAT, you are regurgitating old stuff that other people have regurgitated. Its a new party. people like you are gunning for it. People have attempted to infiltrate it and been thrown out. There was talk between Max and Tim Moen from the very beginning about a joint venture. They found out very early that that won’t work. I have kept up on the jackals nipping at the heels of the PPC trying to take it down and it won’t work. I have perfect faith in Max’s character, not you or any infiltrator is going to change that. However as a new party the PPC is going to have growing pains. So go ahead and ambulance chase if it gets your rocks off, but the party isn’t bleeding.

The cpc attack dogs don’t make anyone want to join their party with the tactics they use.

Oh just BTW…at the meeting where I was acclaimed riding association vice president we had to sign forms disclosing our social media accounts lest SJWs play gottcha. I am not on FACEBOOK, TWITTER, or any of the other ones. I did disclose my activity in MGTOW

The fact that I post frequently HERE at theREBEL…

That apparently was not a problem….so far..

So are you going to vette ME….. Kean?

If you want to hear some insider information on the PPC listen to attached link.
Start at the 48 minute mark. There is info on libertarian infiltration, authoritarianism, buddy networks, max and his use of cpc membership information, max and his pledge not to run in 2019, max and his interactions with tim moen leader of the libertarian party and more.

TROLL…I got better things to do than research your pathetic attempts to muck rake and sew discord…I got a posse hot on my trail in Red Dead Redemption 2 for leaving a sufferagette hog tied in a whorehouse.

Besides it is no secret that the PPC has close ties with libertarians. Back when I was supporting Ken Weibe at BC FATHERS I was vetted for the fledgeling Libertarian Party (Ken Weibe was already a member) I declined at the time because I was working for the government and had enough political activity oversight to deal with.

So if being libertarian is bad…..wel I’m a BAAAAAD boy….(as the posse chasing after me will attest)…ah but hey…lot’s of girls find that irresistably sexy……;-)
