Mayor: Muslim school prayer “No big deal” — but these parents disagree

David MenziesMission Specialist

Over the weekend, Concerned Parents of Peel Region held a march to demand that the school board end the accommodation of Muslim prayer and keep religion out of public schools.

People of all different faiths and ethnicities came together to tell politicians and school officials that school should not be a platform for prayers or religious practices of any sort.

Watch as they explain what brought them out on a frigid Canadian afternoon to organize a protest.

Finally, a protest march with people who make sense. Discrination is not allowed, the Lord’s Prayer is not allowed & that goes for any other religious prayers. You want to make up rules, well fine, stick to them, no exception. Stop the cowering & catering to every Muslim demand & these two men were absolutely correct, you don’t need a special place to pray, you can pray in your head anytime you want.
It is not the responsibility of schools to accommodate any religion, schools are a place of learning.
Is Ontario becoming an Islamic province, I’m beginning to wonder since it seems the majority of the stories, news re Muslims all seem to be happening in Ontario.

Ontario is well on the path to failure and increasing Islamic violence. Jihadi Justin will ensure the rest of the country follows suit. Western Separation Now!

Can you spell ‘Muslim Brotherhood’?

Why does a mayor have anything to do with a decision to have Muslim prayer in schools? ( or a premier’s interfere with school boards for that matter). Aren’t those issues for the local school board and parents to decide? Not that it would make any difference in Peel Region, where the school board is already all in for Islamization. Why do Muslims get all the consideration in Peel, when the demographic composition is half Christian, a small number of first nations, Metis, and Inuit, with the remaining Muslim, Sikh and Hindu being in roughly equal amounts. Only Muslims count.
The Aboriginals don’t want it, the Hindi don’t want it, the Christians don’t want it, only the 10% or so of the Muslim demographic want it (and possibly not even all of that 10%). So what gives? There are big players at work here, that is a given. This is political foreign interference or such a small minority of Muslims would not have such power. Are we stupid or what?

Religion: an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or a group of gods

Islam is a sociopolitical system with the Koranic monotheistic religion as its’ base, making the implementation of Islam as a system of government a theocracy.

Claiming Islam is not a religion is only partially accurate as religion is only one factor in it.

Now having said that, no religion of any type belongs in public schools.

Last week I watched a video of I believe was a Peel District council meeting. It was a display worthy of a Ukrainian Parliamentary brawl. Very angry citizens confronting a belligerent, ignorant council of leftist apologist stooges cowtowing to JT and the islamic wave, with utter disdain for the concerned tax payers looking for answers. Now this prayer issue surfaces. The Lord’s prayer and certain other previous norms were dropped from our public schools, and now we bend over backwards to accommodate the Cult of Violence. I would like to scream and bitch about Ontario and your ultra douche premier, but because of Justin the Terrible, King of Turds, this is becoming common place across our post modern non country. FUCK, what a mess

On December 13, 2013 I e-mailed my MP detailing the concerns I have re: Islamization of Canada. It was a lengthy correspondence and I also included why I object to prayers in public schools. I have copied and pasted the portion of my letter pertaining to this topic. See below.

“Organized prayers for muslim students in public schools (Friday afternoon after lunch, when students should be in class) . Notably, Valley Park Middle school in Toronto. For several years, a local imam attended the school and led the service. Following a public outcry, nearby high school muslim male students lead the service with some training from an imam. How is this possible? It is happening all over Ontario and other provinces. ”http://www.torontolife.com/informer/features/2012/03/21/allah-in-the-cafeteria/?page=all#tlb_multipage_anchor_1">http://www.torontolife.com/informer/features/2012/03/21/allah-in-the-cafeteria/?page=all#tlb_multipage_anchor_1 http://life.nationalpost.com/2011/07/05/muslim-prayers-during-class-time-draws-fire-at-toronto-school/ http://www.torontosun.com/2012/09/22/muslims-want-permanent-prayer-rooms-in-high-schools
According to the Ontario Court of Appeal, this school sanctioned prayer is illegal. In an appeal pertaining to Regulation 262, Subsection 28(4) of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms ruled the following:
“1.The school may sponsor the study of religion, but may not sponsor the practice of religion….5.The school’s approach is academic, not devotional…..They must not give primacy to any particular faith.”
Providing a prayer room is not an “accommodation”. It is using public school space for the practice of religion, which is illegal. Prayer is devotional and therefore, organized prayer time in a school is illegal. Only one particular faith is pursuing this prayer room, meaning that one particular faith is receiving primacy and is therefore illegal.
At Valley Park, the real issue was that children between the ages of 10 to 14 were not returning to school after their Friday prayer. That’s a discipline and truancy issue and should be dealt with as such, with the individuals and their parents. The entire school should not be expected to pander to entitled children who decide to skip off from school. If it was a real issue, a community leader ought to have identified the problem and taken the initiative to supervise the return of students to school. The current strategy only serves to stratify the students, which will result in alienation and resentment among both the Muslim and Non-Muslim. I e-mailed Premier Wynne and requested she investigate and enforce the Education Act.

A Catholic high school (Mother Theresa) in London with 1400 students, converted an administrative office into a permanent prayer room for 25 muslim students; equipped with new carpeting, speakers & prayer mats. I believe the students should have been offered an empty classroom to pray before school, at lunch and after school. The students can ask their parents for a prayer mat, which can be stored in their locker. This would have been the most cost effective accommodation & wouldn’t affect the school budget. Additionally, in most schools, space is often lacking. It’s a bit of a mystery to me why muslim parents are sending their children to Catholic schools. I question whether there is a methodical plan to increase the presence of muslim students so that additional accommodations can be requested/demanded and later expanded to other schools as a model. The goal, little by little; a watered down Catholic education experience so the minority group is not offended. Again, more wilfull blindness being called tolerance and welcoming diversity. The other possibility is when society says no to dedicated muslim prayer rooms; installing ritual washing stations; halal certified only cafeterias, letters going home to non-muslim families instructing them to send halal only snacks/lunches; imams conducting prayer during class instruction time; cancelling co-ed physical education; closing music programs; segregating boys from girls; adding lslamic holidays to the school calendar etc… the muslim community will demand publicly funded religious education which should not have to follow the curriculum as it offends their culture. It’s the relentless attempts to change this wonderful democratic country to mirror their country of origin, all the while accepting the goodwill and generosity of Canadians. It’s tiring, and like many Canadians, I feel like we are being taken advantage of."

I did get a response from Kathleen Wynne’s office telling me religious accomodations are legal in Ontario. Basically, prayers are here to stay!

I encourage everyone to write to Kathleen Wynne to demand she uphold the law and do so without haste.

Banning Religion from schools is fine but it will make no difference to the Muslims, for one simple reason.

ISLAM IS NOT A RELIGION, IT IS A DEATH CULT. My opinion.

So if these people opposing Muslim prayer accommodation in schools are from Muslim communities, does that then make them racist against themselves?
Trudeau has come out in support of Sharia accommodation many times, regardless of opposition to it, even disregarding opposition from Muslims who came to Canada to escape Sharia.
Our Dear Leader is All-Knowing. Praise Him.

MSM would never make a report like this. Thank-you RebelTV for showing the other side of the narrative.

Can we get MORE immigrants like the ones being interviewed, please?
They’re exactly what we need MORE of. I agree with them all 100%.

I hope that they realise that the Conservative Party is really the place for them.
I suspect that already have.

Proof that multiculturalism works well only when nobody is stepping on everybody else’s toes. Great to see, thanks David. I was very impressed at their turnout for the protest.
