Mayor Nenshi hits back at Rempel with “sexist” comment: Will media notice?

Holly NicholasRebel Commentator

Mayor Nenshi had a Jim Prentice “math is hard” moment just a couple of days ago in response to Conservative MP Michelle Rempel’s scrutiny of City Council’s business tax calculation which results in a transfer of tax liabilities from one business to another.

Rempel, who has a degree in economics, suggests that the tax is unfair when so many Calgarians are already struggling to make ends meet as a result of an economic downturn that has resulted in double digit unemployment figures for the city.

Nenshi’s response?

“Apparently math is challenging but hopefully she’ll figure that out.”

Remember when Prentice dropped his “math is difficult” comment on Notley during the leadership debate before she was elected into office? That story had legs for days with tweet upon tweet and newspaper headlines galore.

Where are these people now that Michelle Rempel was talked down to by Calgary’s mayor?

We know Nenshi will get away with it. This snarky comment won’t follow him throughout the rest of his career like it did Jim Prentice because Nenshi is a progressive and it's always totally a-okay for progressives to break all of their own rules.

Yes Nenshi is for sure a big mouth, that`s the only thing that got him forward……….but it will bring him
down. We just have to be patient.

Nenshi is a waste of space. That says a lot.

Nenshi is an arrogant ass, his time is coming, michelle should go and slap him upside the head, he would be crying like a baby.

Bill Elder – this is what Harvard is pumping out these days!

In Nenshi’s case thinking is hard – telling the truth is even harder and trying to contain his chauvinist ego is virtually impossible.

Rempel is taking several strips off him and he’s not used to that sort of treatment. Smurf king is whining loud. I love it and hope he is taken down. These spendthrift mayors do widespread damage and think they can get away with it uncountered. Drain the swamp.

I think there are many in Calgary that are sick of this spendaholic big mouth. And I bet the turn out in this election will be much higher, as we try to rid our city of this socialist thief.

He is a brown liberal which means he gets a pass on any shitty remark (remember the uber comments on film?) if he was a white guy you would hear nothing but screams of misogynist.

It seems like Prentice was correct and Notley is
challenged as well as economically challenged and morally challenged as well..
However this isn’t about Rachel Notley..
The only thing that will save Calgary’s mayor is the demographics of his voters.
If there are more Muslims in Calgary than there are concerned Christians and business owners then he will win.

I’m hoping and praying that Rempel will run for the mayor of Calgary. I know she would win against him. And she is an actual economist, and she is not shy about speaking back to the purple bully.

I have often stated that there is one set of rules for those in government, and another set of rules for those who are not! “…ist”, “….ism”…and “…..phobia” suffixes are ones preferred by the progressive lefties!

Mutt & Jeff – two arrogant liberal fools!

Nenshi is a cry bully of the highest degree. There isn’t a neighbouring municipality that hasn’t felt the bullying tactics and mafia style politics from his purple highness. He’s been gobbling up precious agricultural land for his cities expansion at unfair land values, with the help of the province to expropriate and arm twist many a municipal councillor. Build up, not out.

And I still maintain that solar panels and windmills belong in the city not in the country. All you idiots want green energy? Then make it yourselves on a local level in purpleville.

This also reminded me of Ontario’s sexist and chauvinistic Energy Minister, Bob Chiarelli, who remarked that the province’s Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk (who had spent about 10 years in senior roles at Manitoba Hydro) didn’t understand the complexity of the province’s energy system.
It now seems overwhelmingly valid to add “sexist” and “chauvinistic” to the long list of derogatory characteristics that define lefty liberals.

Nenshi is also immune to criticism because he is a moslem of colour, therefore criticism of him is racist and islamophobic.
