The Liberals met their revised down-graded target of 25,000 Syrian refugees by the end of February.
Immigration Minister John McCallum made the announcement at Toronto’s Pearson Airport, proclaiming it was “a terrific day for us”.
And that’s precisely it, isn’t it?
Why? Because they had to move fast. McCallum once again referenced the “deplorable conditions in the camps” to justify the rush, but we’ve already shown that the vast majority of refugees they brought over, weren’t in camps.
Urgency was not a priority for anyone but the Liberal’s own vainglory.
Bravo Liberals. You met your deadline. But at what cost?
