Justin Trudeau is travelling across Canada on a campaign style tour organized by local Liberal Party riding associations, and being sold to the media as a way for Trudeau to reconnect with the Middle Class.
It’s more like an apology tour, where Trudeau is saying sorry for sky-rocketing costs of hydro, trying in vain to sell his ill-advised and poorly timed carbon tax, and, most notably, apologizing for all the various conflict-of-interest issues his government is facing.
Trudeau is hosting several political events and answering questions from Canadians, but unfortunately for him, he tends to get into trouble when he’s improvising and not reading from a script or repeating his talking points.
Trudeau has a bad habit of saying really stupid things.
Watch as I share one of those moments when Justin was trying to relate to the middle class, and relate to immigrants, pointing to his blue-blood lineage of politicians and wealthy businessmen.
Of course, the media just swallowed up his cute little immigration story without any skepticism or criticism.
Trudeau’s in friendly territory in Atlantic Canada, but his reception might not be so rosy when he comes west if the reaction to his message at an Edmonton Oilers game is any indication.
If Trudeau’s town halls go anything like that, this tour might not be the silver bullet his Liberal handlers had planned.
