Mega union front group behind Fire Fighters for Alberta endorsement of Notley NDP

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

A group calling themselves Fire Fighters for Alberta are sending out some expensive-looking literature to Alberta households endorsing the NDP as their choice for government.

Mailers are going out in several ridings across the province endorsing specific candidates, while the organization’s website fear-mongers about UCP cuts to firefighting and even endorses the Notley carbon tax. Very weird.

But who and what exactly is Fire Fighters for Alberta?

Today, I’ll tell you the truth about this mega union front group and show you how they represent a very small number of Alberta firefighters.

Eighty per cent of firefighters in Alberta are volunteers. Ninety-seven per cent of Alberta's fire departments are run by volunteers. And there are over 450 volunteer-operated fire departments in Alberta.

And that union front group stumping for the Notley NDP, represents just 17 unionized departments.

It’s a drop in the bucket — an opportunistic big labour operation taking advantage of the goodwill Albertans all have for those who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe.

And about those folks who put it all on the line to fight fires, when the NDP had a chance to help them with legislation proposed by UCP MLA Wayne Anderson, the NDP didn’t support it instead choosing to refer the bill for further study.

Albertans love our firefighters, and we know the difference between them and this union which represents just a tiny handful of them, even if Rachel Notley thinks we don’t.

The other sleazy aspect of this is the color of the signs and the fact that it does not say what party the candidates are running for. I am banned from the Fire Fighters for Alberta page and most of the NDP pages for pointing this out

How can unions still be tax free when they break tax laws all the time?

That’s not quite true Keith… Some unions were formed out of necessity for better working conditions and wages more in line with the value of the product… It was after those times that gangsters saw the value in acquiring influence over the union for political and personal gain. However with the huge upticks in technology and a broader spectrum of understanding for safety and industrial related diseases there are organizations set up to ensure company compliance for safe working conditions. For now I personally believe even as a member of a union that they have long since outlived their usefulness.. when the membership controlled or union there was a certain pride to be involved with that organization but however when the power was removed from the membership by management and concentrated at the top it more resembles something out of the PMO because that’s exactly how it’s done.!!!

All Dr’s and health care workers are voting NDP for job security.. my doctor says he’s concerned about patient stacking up in the emergency but after talking to him a little bit more he let it escape that he’s more concerned about being laid off.. under a socialist government there will be less and less people to tax every year so where the hell is the money supposed to come from to fund all this free healthcare. Doctors can be the dumbest smart people you’ve ever met.!

Unions were first organized by Gangsters like Al Capone and so on but when things became to hot for them in the Unions, they turned to Politics. In this day and age they are still in Politics and Unions……Right? Justin.

Unions have no business meddling in politics. Their job is to represent and advocate for their workers to THEIR employers. Using dues to fund political campaigns is wrong. And I’d still say this if the UPC took union money for their campaign. This is NOT what unions are for. That’s all there is to it.
