The Menzoid launches Nanny State Ninny Award!

David MenziesMission Specialist

Why won't the "co-parents", bureaucrats and special interest groups let us live our lives any more?

The nanny staters are always so busy concocting new rules, new guidelines and new regulations in an effort to "help" us.

We at the Rebel want to strike back with a dubious achievement award.

Our plan is to dole out special recognition each month to those meddling malcontents who are responsible for the most outrageous acts of nanny-statism.

Watch our premiere edition to find out who was named the top Nanny State Ninny for the month of September, and why.

And every totalitarian state from Stalin’s Soviet Union to Chairman Mao’s China – an of course Hitler’s Germany – has recognized the importance of indoctrinating them while they are young… In the case of the three mentioned, to breed militarism… But the nanny state can just as well breed them to be fragile saps, unable to cope with the real world…

They don’t let kids go outside to play, so they end up implementing “quiet rooms”. Ever heard of em? Just read an article in our local rag about a mother finding out after the fact that her down syndrome second grader was being put in a closet sized room with a window and a locked door, sometimes three times a day, for disruptive behaviour!! ( this door is SUPPOSED to unlock automatically in case of fire)
What’s your public school up to, you might want to check it out.
Absolute lunacy, allowing the state to take over the raising of our children.

Indeed, Liza and Julie… It now goes back three whole generations… Every time I see an out of control, “I want, I want” acting-out brat at a local store I am reminded that it started with the Jane Fondas of Dr. Benjamin Spock’s deeply damaging “let the kiddies have fun/don’t expose them to reality” child rearing bible in the 50s… Spock is dead, but the damage his misguided “theory” did is here for us to deal with, compounded with each generation… No wonder that the hard school of reality Third World is laughing at us…

Julie, its really sad, and its going to screw up a few generations worth of kids. Society is suffering the effects of these mal adjusted kids already.
Keep up the good work David Menzoid, expose the poseurs.

Tag was outlawed in London area about 13 years ago. Totally shameful. So was king of the castle, snowball fights, british bulldog, and basically anything else that involved touching. Even giving a hug to someone who needs one.

I thought so too Peter, if so, the courts aren’t choked like they used to be by a zillion kids with a couple of ounces. Aren’t you allowed to have a plant or two? Personal use, not legally, because its not legal, but you can’t get charged with growing or trafficking?

I don’t mind things the way they are, I can still have a plant for personal medicinal purposes( preferably consumed or used topically), and the government can’t regulate it to death, as they would if they made it legal. I think its better the way it is. Its not hard to get, its not hard to grow a plant or two. The government can’t abuse it and use it as another way to rob us blind, with inferior product to boot. I think its less nanny state staying with the status quo.

Liza, yes I thought the Conservatives decriminalized marijuana for carrying up to one ounce, but growing it remained illegal, but I could be wrong on that.

Glenn, as to whether marijuana prohibition is a form of nanny state-ism … hmmm, I suppose it could be viewed as that. However you could apply that logic to any law or regulation. At what point do the laws and regulations applied to a society become a nanny state?

Doug Brinkman, constantly posting a link to your website in all your comments is spamming whether you call it that or not, and we all understand that Ezra personally invited you post here. But I must ask, did you clearly enunciate to Ezra during that conversation in which Ezra invited you to his website that you would be promoting your website in each comment you posted?
commented 2015-10-05 05:41:07 -0400
Brinkman you are spamming you idiot that’s why your comments were deleted last week you idiot. Your “signature” or links to another website that you post in almost every post is advertising for another site. That is by definition spamming. Moron!

Menz, I get where you’re coming from, but let’s let the Australians worry about Australia and focus on the accelerating degeneration of Canada that we need to slow down or hopefully reverse. Please keep us posted on the Wynne government’s efforts to destroy Ontario, which we need to retrieve back into western civilization.

I have never ever said anything nice about or to you Brinkman. Not ‘rarely’, not EVER.

Good post regarding University tuition Glenn. I agree the taxpayer should not be on the hook ,especially for so many usless degrees, and especially for foreign students.

Has pot been decriminalized? I thought it had. I think the Conservatives are maybe making it more complicated than it needs to be. The way it would be regulated would be ‘nanny state’. The conservatives just don’t want to address it.

Now then…..I will say something that may cause a pile on….but I am concerned because it feeds into support shift to Mr Trudeau…..(I don’t believe the Liberals are sincere on this promise…they never were before)….but…

What is the marijuana prohibition if it is not "nanny statism "?
commented 2015-10-04 21:19:11 -0400
Mr Brinkman the problem is not government funding….it is what the university administration does with it and what their priorities are. Usually they use the government money to expand capital assets…..their bricks and mortar buildings and trappings of prestige as well as an ever expanding administration….and pro rate that on to the tuition of undergraduates. Students get screwed by the greedy administration of their alma mater….not by those stingy Tories.

Besides Mr Brinkman….value is a function of scarcity……Napolean’s most prized possession was a desk set given to him by Josephine….made from the most rare metal on the planet at that time (and therefore “priceless”)…aluminum….now the recycling depots have megatons in inventory and it can be had for pennies and a transpart fee.

Same thing is true of university degrees….they are only valuable if they are scarce….if everybody has one they are worthless…and if our universities want to educate more foreign students than domestic students…..then they can find a price point that makes it work ….the Canadian taxpayer is not obliged to subsidize this ever expanding project.

I’m sorry LIZA and Peter that you feel that I’m spamming – I’m not spamming but truth be known Liza, Peter and Vlad rarely have anything nice to say about me on this or any forum. I was invited here on The Rebel Media when I met Ezra Levant in Edmonton during an emergency town hall meeting and before I interviewed our fearless commander Levant now on YouTube – I found Ezra both friendly and approachable, nothing like the character he portrays in his videos as a news media pundit. Definitely nothing like some of the rude, fouled tempered right wing trolls who never seem to have nothing nice say about anyone. look in the mirror trolls and ask yourself who the real spammers are breaking forum rules!

“Bug off Brinkman” Liza says…
The points I made on my first post directly counter’s DAVID MENZIES news story where he take’s a self righteous conservative side – I added a second side to the story that I feel best reflects the majority of young Canadians who are SICK AND TIRED paying high costs of tuition fees while seeing thier teachers laid off and budget cuts from these tight wad CONSERVATIVES

Hopefully after being shamed in public, they will be thrown out in their next School Board elections.
Like Toronto and the Tobogganing ban, too ridiculous.
We need to pay more attention to voting in school board elections and municipal elections than we do. Nip it in the bud.

Perhaps the marijuana fumes on Mercer Island, Washington State, have subsided?… In a sheepish sounding bulletin dated September the 25th., the Mercer Island School Board declares that “Tag, as we know it, and have know it, is reinstated.”…. Yipee!… The same bulletin admits that “however well intentioned (the anti Tag edict) has led to confusion, false reporting (?) and is clearly not supported by most staff and many parents.”…. The bulletin concludes with:- “Yes, we are a learning organization, too.”… One wonders if they “learned” that they are the laughing stock of people across North America in the process?… But you can be sure that the ninnies who launched this policy in the first place will be testing the waters again soon…

I think the problems faced today by teachers and school boards LINDA CAYER has existed for generations including in my generation of the 60s – with extra activities beyond school curriculum such as dances, concerts it has always been one or two trouble makers who spoil it for the rest so teachers and school boards have no alternative but to police and regulate such activities. To be free in Canada one must exercise respect for others – something both Conservative and Socialist individuals both have trouble practicing by lack of respect towards others… We live in a law abiding nation, school boards and teachers must prepare our young people to recognize and respect this to go on to be good citizens.

Oh my god you moron what the hell does respect have to do with freedom? Ill tell you, nothing. Zip. In fact in a free society I am free to show no respect to anything and everything I have no respect for. Like you. Only a socialist brain washed idiot like yourself would say something as stupid as freedom comes from respecting each other….. lol holy shit lol. Respect is not something deserved or just given. Respect is earned, and has nothing to do with freedom. Saying you must respect everybody and everything is in fact a form of tyranny as you would be taking away one of my natural liberties.
Go away Brinkman every time you post it makes me throw up a little.

Brinkman your such a moron of course you would say that! Maybe if Universities weren’t paying 500,000 salaries to profs they would have some money to spare. Same with our public schools paying teachers over 100,000 a year, sorry for 8 months of the year, when most of them cant teach worth a shit especially in math and science because they all have fing liberal arts diplomas. Our schools and especially universities and colleges spend money on social justice causes to which is a joke. What business do schools of any kind have boycotting Israel and supporting Palestinian terrorists? Our schools need to use there budgets properly the board and trustees making 300,000 a year to. There is plenty of money they just don’t use it wisely because they all think they should be paid like wall street bankers for doing squat. The money lost every year on just substitute teachers alone in Ontario is almost 3/4 of a billion dollars because the teachers get way to many paid sick days and mental health days and etc that they make sure they max out every year no matter what. And substitutes cost money.
The school system here is a joke thanks to asshole socialists like you supporting the Libs and Ndp who give the teachers unions what ever they want. Incompetent teachers making more than people that get shot at or run into burning buildings, what a joke. But you socialist assholes have given the unions so much power that they have a great deal of political clout. Claw back all the money fire all of them from the trustees and board members to every teacher that wont accept a max pay of 60,000. End of problem.

What these “organizations” really are are busybodies, as in “they don’t have enough to do by themselves”. They are manned, either overtly (bureaucrats) or covertly (somebody’s neighbor), by self-righteous “people” who think they know better than we do… or, at the very least, despise what we do, or how we do it, or even WHY we do it, and want to extract revenge. The “laws” they claim to enforce are the means of their revenge.

We, as the “victims” of this self-righteousness, have two choices: to knuckle under and accept the foisted status quo, or to fight back. Now, by fighting back, I do not mean physical or armed struggle. I do mean standing up to these faceless interfering busybodies — in the case of the covert ones, face them directly and discuss their methods and offenses — by either ignoring their interferences or defending one’s self in court.

The problem lies with fear — fear of the results of what these busybodies can do. Are we willing to risk our children? Are we willing to lose them to some faceless bureaucracy (which will likely damage our kids far more than we can, and the evidence exists to prove that)? Are we willing to stand up for principles? I face this question daily, and in coming years the consequences will get even worse. Society now has a generation or two of fearful, spineless “citizens”, kept in check by SJW-run bureaucratic departments — idealistic thugs. (“Childrens’ Ministries”, my arse! Many of the children “siezed for their own protection” are taken for political reasons, or vengeful “parent” reasons. How many children are actually taken from drug-addicted parents? By far, the minority. How about “abusive families”? Well, define “abuse”! One "parent"’s claim over another, or even a neighborhood busybody’s claim can have kids taken from responsible parents. Or how about “Family Court”? Vengeful squabbling between “adults” over who gets the kids, with acrimonious and unsubstantiated claims thrown both directions. Or an emotional “mother” trying to extract revenge (“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned…”) from the “father”, and the courts nearly always side with the woman, even if it can be proved she’s lying, or abusive, or on drugs. These cases exist. The vast majority of the time the father, often more credible, is the paycheck, and nothing more.) And while the children are in the custody of these “ministries”, they often fare far worse than in their parents’ care… because the “ministries” don’t (and can’t) care.

So, do we as a society, as individual parents and caregivers, cowtow to these bureaucratic thugs, or do we stand up to them? This is a choice we all, as individuals, must make.

As for myself, they only have the power over me that I give them (which is minimal — at best)… and I can teach my children the same.

Which, of course, makes me a target, with a big, fat bullseye on my back, because I HAVE a backbone…

David asks:
“Why won’t the “co-parents”, bureaucrats and special interest groups let us live our lives any more?"

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” [C.S. Lewis]
