Back in the 2000’s, Mexico was becoming our top source country for refugees despite being an advanced democracy. After looking into it, the Harper Conservatives realized, a lot of these refugee claims were bogus.
It turned out many of these claimants were just economic migrants using the refugee card to skip to the front of the line.
The Harper Conservatives fixed the problem by putting in place a Visa requirement on Mexicans entering Canada and now, the Liberals want to reverse this.
But why? Didn’t the Liberals say they were going to be all about science and evidence based policy making?
Watch as Immigration Minister John McCallum is questioned about this change by Conservative MP Bob Saroya who reiterates the point that the evidence doesn’t back up the Liberal’s decision to reverse the policy.
Unfortunately, we’ve already seen instances of McCallum telling outright lies, especially on the issue of Syrian refugees so we can’t assume he’s telling the truth. And actually, I know his numbers are wrong because I actually do check facts before I make statements and I’ve provided all the numbers in this video so you can see for yourself whether this change the Liberals want to make is “evidence” based or not.
I say not and the Liberals will go ahead with this change despite the evidence, not because of it. And they don’t seem to care if Canada once again finds itself having to deal with thousands of bogus refugee claims.
Welcome to Trudeau’s “Sunny Ways”, based on fact-free policy decision making.
