Michael Knowles: The culture war of words

Rebel Staff

On Wednesday's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, Michael Knowles of The Daily Wire joined me to discuss his PragerU video about the how the left's control of words is shaping our culture.

Michael explains that by convincing people to use terms like "happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas", the left is subtly pushing our culture in their direction.

Andrew Stephenson the holiday is Christmas , the left is only asking for it to change one way. They have no problem saying Ramadan. Now try joining us in the real world. When the left craps on all religions like they do to Christianity and Judaism is will take your comment as truth, until then it is just deflecting from bigotry.

“Michael explains that by convincing people to use terms like “happy holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”, the left is subtly pushing our culture in their direction."

You could argue the other way, too. By trying to convince people to use “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays”, you’re (not so) subtly implying that Christmas is the only important holiday and thus, a tacit attempt to push culture in that direction.

“Happy holidays” seems reactive, anyway. Christianity declined to the point where that specific greeting was no longer ideal, the greeting isn’t causing secularization itself.
