Mickey Kaus: Trump's immigration proposal betrays campaign promises

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On Friday's show, American pundit Mickey Kaus joined me to discuss President Trump's controversial new immigration proposals.

Democrats have already shut down the federal government thanks to their inability to reach an agreement with Trump on illegal immigration and funding for the Mexican border wall, so Trump is attempting to reach a compromise.

Unfortunately, it appears Trump is willing to grant amnesty to 1.8 million illegals in order to get money for the wall.

WATCH my interview with Mickey to see how this is reminiscent of Reagan's disastrous amnesty legislation in 1986, and why Trump's proposal may fail to direct any money to the wall despite granting Democrats amnesty demands.

Andrew i am still waiting for that Ontario Boom you promised a long time ago. LMAO!"
About five years in. Ontario’s present 5.5% unemployment is comparable to what it was in the late 90s (e.g, Jan 2000, 5.7%) when last it boomed.

Andrew it was not growing anywhere near this rat and it was not growing in many other areas that it is now. Obama was a failure.”

What metric do you define “rat” (rate?) by? Job growth had its worst year since 2010, ,and the GDP growth last year, 2.3%, was essentially identical to the 2.2% growth seen on average over Obama’s second term. So, by objective measures, I see no evidence that Obama “destroyed” anything, nor that Trump “fixed” it. 2017 in the US, was virtually identical to each of the five years before.

I suppose you have the stock market, but as I said, that’s speculative and as of yet, the corporate growth to back up those gains has yet to happen.

Andrew . . . the uninformed !

The US economy is growing . . . black unemployment LOWEST in History today !
Stock market has gained 44% in the last year . . . too bad about Canada though, now 10,000 points behind the Dow . . . I remember with it was 2000 . . . but hey we have Justin . . . lol "

Except that the economy was growing before Trump as well, and unemployment had been falling as well. The vast majority of the jobs created for Blacks were created under Obama – Trump is just frosting a cake that’s already baked.

By the way, the Dow’s valuations are not being driven by actual economic indicators, it’s up 34% in the last year (not 44% – that’s since the election, closer to 15 months now)… which is to say, it’s speculative, valuations very high right now. Real GDP growth was about 2.5%, comparable to the Obama era, meaning it’s about as based in reality as Bitcoin is. Canadian stock valuations are reasonable, even cheap by comparison, for the same reason. Check the P/E ratios of both indices. I wonder if Trump will claim ownership of the correction?

The rest is just the standard marketing fluff. Yes, he’s quite great, and lefties! Clinton! Russia! Etc… Pity none of it means anything, beyond … you know, that speculative stock bubble.

Trump is NEGOTIATING with the insane left . . . he has them going quite batty . . . you are aware that there are Midterm Elections coming next Fall. Since the left is more concerned about Illegals than they are about Americans . . . how is that going to play out. I suspect Trump may get 60+ Senators.

Trump is playing Chess . . . while the insane left is playing Checkers !

ps: Andrew . . . you and Justin are playing Pocket Pool . . .

Well, now we have some pretty solid evidence that the peanut gallery are simply ignoring any possible criticism of His Trumpness. Not that this is a surprise supporting him is only justifiable if you flat-out ignore all the numerous negative aspects to his presidency.

Just as You have ignored all the positive aspects of his presidency. Finance and employment for instance. You forget that he is dealing with Democrats who are little better than Gangsters fighting over Gang boundary’s.
