Having the right microphones is probably the most important thing that changes an amateur-looking production into TV-quality work. We want to be able to do in-depth interviews in our studios, so we need to get two lavalier microphones for each studio. Those are the small microphones that get attached to a person's lapel or tie. Each kit comes with one microphone as well as the wireless transmitter and receiver. They cost $629.95 plus tax per kit. We also need to get one "shotgun" microphone to capture the studio's ambient sound. A shotgun mic with accessories costs $179.50 plus tax.
