34-year-old Somali migrant Ali Abdullahi claimed he wasn't in the wrong for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl because of 'cultural differences'.
He told police that he doesn't grasp the sexual boundary between men and women in the UK despite moving there in 2011, according to Express.
Judge Graham Cottle said his motives back in 2013 were sexually motivated and not due to 'cultural differences' as he claimed. The victim “was probably very frightened” Cottle told Abdullahi.
“Later that day you approached another slightly older victim who got on the train traveling towards Bristol Temple Meads. You behaved completely inappropriately towards her,” Judge Cottle added.
Abdullahi pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault.
Judge Cottle said that if he went to prison the sentence would be short and he would come out an untreated sex offender. Instead, Abdullahi was given a community order and told to attend a sex offender course to improve his conduct with women.
