Kevin O'Leary is mulling over the idea of a Conservative leadership bid.
Some speculate that his interests aren't necessarily aligned with the current political atmosphere in Canada, however the younger generation should keep a close watch on this new revelation.
O'Leary admits that he would be an outsider in the race, competing against former Harper cabinet ministers.
Perhaps that is exactly what the party needs.
Canada is in dire need of an individual capable of making tough decisions that the economy so desperately needs. We are seeing our dollar drop at an alarming rate, and good paying jobs fleeing the country due to government mismanagement, at the federal and provincial levels.
As a 23 year old, I'm not only intrigued, but endorse the idea of a non-political figure seeking the nation's highest office.
Far too often, the younger crowd is easily coaxed by political promises, few of which ever become reality.
The idea of having a straight-shooting, talk-no-BS businessman run should bring honesty, and transparency to the political campaigns.
One would be remiss in neglecting mentioning Kevin O'Leary's lack of "empathy" towards those he speaks with, but that's exactly the attitude necessary to achieve grandeur goals on the economy, and in politics as a whole. By removing the soft talk and the tears, one can be pragmatic about policy.
I endorse such a figure for the leadership of our nation, and I hope my generation will do the same.
