A man the RCMP fear will partake in terrorism has signed a peace bond.
CTV reports that 22-year-old Merouane Ghalmi has not been charged with any offense and the contents of a sworn affidavit have been sealed.
Federal prosecutor Lyne Decarie said Ghalmi will hand over the passwords to his electronic devices, will wear a worldwide GPS tracker, and is forbidden from looking up terrorist or radical materials.
In addition, he has to hand over his passport and is not allowed to have a cell phone.
Ghalmi didn't fight the conditions and agreed that the RCMP's concerns were warranted.
“He agreed that the RCMP had reasonable grounds to believe that he could commit a terrorist offence so he accepted to follow these conditions for 12 months,” Decarie said.
