Rebel viewers might recall that the Toronto Masjid mosque recently had an Imam conducting a sermon that didn’t quite live up to Islam’s “Religion of Peace” branding since he advocated death to infidels and referred to Jews as “filthy.”
Now comes more disturbing news out of a mosque in Montreal where an Imam called for Allah to “destroy the accursed Jews,” and “kill them one by one.”
A National Post story revealed that the Middle East Media Research Institute released a video in which an imam at the Al Andalous Islamic Centre advocated death to Jews and served up preposterous conspiracy theories regarding Judaism.
Sheikh Wael Al-Ghitawi is shown in the video clips claiming Jews were “people who slayed the prophets, shed their blood and cursed the Lord.”
He also said Jews were the descendants of “Turkish Mongols” and had been “punished by Allah” and said Jews have no historical ties to Jerusalem or Palestine.
The mosque administration has blamed “clumsy and unacceptable phrasing” by a substitute Imam.
Yes, “clumsy”, as though the Imam simply mispronounced a word rather than called for genocide.
It’s always interesting to observe the damage control coming from mosques and Muslim associations when such videos hit the news. When the Islamic powers-that-be know cameras are rolling and mikes are recording, they go out of their way to condemn such hateful sermons and imply these Imams are rogues who will be investigated and suspended.
But, I’m not sure I’m buying it and what’s far more concerning is that these stories often arise after an outside source translates Arabic into English in order to expose the hateful propaganda.
Exposure of this stuff never seems to emanate from anyone within the mosque.
Are those at mosques buying into these hateful sermons? Do they agree with what’s being preached? Or maybe those who don’t, are too fearful to come forward given the potential repercussions? Either way, it’s disturbing.
I propose an amendment to the anti-Islamophobia motion M-103 that would prohibit Imams from delivering sermons that call for violence and death and genocide.
Then again, the Trudeau Liberals might consider that sort of language “Islamophobic”.
