Ezra's top 10 observations from tonight's leaders debate
Did you watch the foreign policy debate hosted by the Munk Centre tonight? It was pretty good — all three party leaders were on their game.
Oddly, the CBC refused to broadcast the debate — strange, given their public mandate, and the $1 billion in taxpayer funds they get each year.
Ezra watched the debate, and made a list of ten moments that caught his attention — from Thomas Mulcair’s witty barbs against Justin Trudeau; to Trudeau’s love-letter to his father; to Stephen Harper playing the grown-up on everything from the environment to Canada-U.S. relations.

Mulcair – Complains about “exporting” jobs by exporting raw materials, then goes off about polluter pay … does he not know that refining the crude in Canada would increase Canadian Pollution?
Obama is a dufus and should be belittled … too bad Harper hasn’t done so.
Trudeau says Harper did not want Ontario to shut down Coal based power in Ontario … I wonder How Ontarians feel about that.
Mulcair wants Auto Manufacturing Jobs to return to Canada … does he want to subsidize the power price that drove them away from Ontario?
Mulcair says we should have trade deals only with Countries who share our values and the only two he supported was Korea and Jordan … maybe those share his values.
IS THIS THE SECOND FRENCH DEBATE … WTF … ENGLISH PLEASE
I Want Harper Sitting across from Merkal in ANY Climate Conference .

Mulcair is open to the highest bidder. Nicely rehearsed concern for Canadian citizens but that’s all. Seems to not want to stand for anything that is unpopular. Go home.
Harper has my vote based on his stance for Isreal. He has the fortitude to stand strong on morals and is protecting we the population safe in our own country by not opening borders because “the other countries are doing it”. There is an immediate threat to not just our way of life but our very existence right now. He is standing strong on this issue while the other two are blindly agreeing with every other country for what I can only assume is acceptance from them.
Trudeau and Mulcair will have us all converted to Islam in record time. What’s in it for them?
Why are they using the line “Canadians want”. Who are they talking to? They really need to know that they are wrong and do not speak for the majority of Canadians. The more they talk, the more I believe they just got here!!
Go Harper!!
Becoming disappointed…
