Pakistani man convicted of sexual assault flees Canada to Pakistan before he can be sentenced by using SECOND passport

StaffRebel Columnist

29-year-old Moazzam Tariq of Brampton, Ontario has fled to Pakistan after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman.

According to The Star, the victim's name is subject to a publication ban. She and Tariq first met at a downtown Toronto club where he encouraged her to drink vodka. When they left the club, she could barely stand. Surveillance video from that night shows them in an elevator going up to a room at the Thompson Hotel.

Tariq had been released on a $10,000 bail following his arrest in July 2015. After his conviction in October, he remained on bail and surrendered his Pakistani passport.

However, as The Star reports, Tariq used a different passport to travel to Pakistan on Nov. 18. His disappearance was first reported last week when he failed to show up at the sentencing hearing.

Crown prosecutor Jill Witkin told the court Tariq’s father and surety said he had last spoken to Tariq on Nov. 24. Tariq told him he was in Vancouver for business but would return for the December 1 court date.

Ontario Court Justice Mara Greene found that Tariq had absconded to avoid being sentenced. She ordered that the sentencing hearing proceed without him and noted that in no legal reason to have revoked Tariq’s bail following his conviction.

The way you use English would indicate that you may well be a Muslim yourself.
You sound like some semi literate twerp apologists for the culture of evil.
Are you also a liberal??

He Christian for one. Second the local city government in Pakistan sent him back to Canada to face charges. Since he was already convicted he is currently in jail for 2years. But rebel didn’t not add the rest because it wants your hate on Muslims. And of course didn’t realize the scumbag was Christian. This shows how bad of a job they do at rebel.

He was not a muslim. according to the vice article his family belonged to the Christian minority from the city of Lahore in Pakistan. They were granted refugee status in Canada because one of his family members was murdered and their lives were also being threatened because of their religious status (which was christian). He will most likely face some harsh consequences when he gets back to Pakistan because of the fact that he is Christian.

Liza Rosie, according to the medical test conducted on the girl the day after the incident. There were no signs of drugs, although they did find his semen inside her..

I misspoke Drew. While I do think women have a responsibility to themselves to avoid situations they will be sorry for later, I neglected to take into account the possibility that she may have been drugged as well as drunk. Of course it’s wrong to force yourself on a women, but if the women waits too long to say no, its going to be a lot harder to stop that train, and some personal responsibility, imo, must be taken.
I hold my view of personal responsibility in general, seriously and feel it is something to instil in daughters and encourage in friends in order for them to stay safe in the world.

As I said, I misspoke before considering all the possibilities.

Vigilante justice is just another form of justice . . . but, it did prove to be a deterrent to those tried under this justice system.
Now, if sharia law can exist, why not vigilante justice?

Liza Rosie that does not mean she wanted to have sex. No always means no.
I have been teased pretty hard at some points in my life , but would never force myself on any women. I actually talked with one of the ladies one time, she said she enjoys the tease , but i told her that there are some guys out there who will take it badly.

Pretty easy for him to get a second passport. Just show a folded piece of dog shit.

Just another one of Justin’s friends, who would have most likely been pardoned anyway. Justin’s friends can get away with anything. He should have been put in the Stocks, on the Village Green, until his trial came up.

Keep the family under surveillence, there is a support network there and in the community – frick this guy’s a cowardly punk who can’t take responsibility for his actions – maybe there’s some conflict in his mind between what his internet Imam tells him is OK and what the law demands

According to The Star and this article, the surrendered passport was his Pakistani Passport. Is his “other passport”, the one used to leave Canada, a Canadian passport? If so, I hope that passport been flagged in case he attempts to return to Canada?

Just make sure he stays in Pakistan.

I’m not too sure about this one. The woman has to take some responsibility here.He didn’t pour the vodka down her throat,he didn’t drag her up to a hotel room.
