Erica Reid was trying to drop her kids off at daycare, but couldn't because she was being blocked by Jada Nicklefork, president of Niagara Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario’s Niagara unit and others.
According to Niagara This Week, Reid “was attempting to leave after dropping off a child at the YMCA daycare located in the same building when she was confronted by a woman — who was not one of the teachers holding a picket in front of the school — refused to step aside and allow the woman through.”
At one point Nicklefork even pretended to be hit by Reid's car, falling to the ground, only to get up shortly after.
The two women had a heated exchange with some strong language. Eventually, after being asked by others on the picket line to move.
Reid had been filming the incident the whole time and put it on Facebook along with the following caption: “UPDATE on Mar 22: It has come to my attention that the lady in red is the President of ETFO and her partners are there representing CUPE 4156. I hope from this circumstance, people consider who their "support" is...
This is pathetic!!!!! My son's daycare is in the same building as the Catholic school board and the public school board. On my way to drop my son off at the YMCA daycare, where I pay for him to attend I might add, this is what I had to encounter with the lock out! This women is ridiculous who fakes that I hit her.... I am not your problem and now I know who the problem really is!!!”
