MUST WATCH: Left-wing immigration myths SHATTERED by GUMBALLS and immigration author

StaffRebel Columnist

With the Syrian 'refugee crisis' on everyone's mind, this video is a must watch.

A 2010 video of immigration author Roy Beck exposing the truth about immigration and the global 'difference' immigration makes.

It doesn't help one bit when you see how many ineffective immigration really is.

Using gumballs, Beck shows how admitting the immigrants we do actually hurts poorer countries.

“Immigration can never be an effective or significant way to deal with the suffering people of the world. They have to be helped where they live. 99.9% of them will never be able to immigrate to a rich country. There's no hope for that. They have to bloom where they're planted... the only place they can be helped is where they live. Let's help them there,” he concludes.

Roy Beck makes sense, a lot of “common” sense! That is what is missing with this Liberal government that less than 3 out of every 10 voters put into power!

The elegant simplicity of the truth can be quite amazing and uplifting…the truth will set you free!

Immigration is a great thing for the immigrant. Overheard a former Mexican who said he was paid $7 a day for construction work. There was no WCB, no safety equipment. Nothing. In this part of Canada he makes $17 per hour.

If you take the argument at face value, theoretically immigration should be at least neutral to good. But we have to assume those entering will create value. Obviously not all native born Canadians create value, but there is not much we can do about that. Immigration has to be seen as a benefit. It’s a messy problem. Canada I believe has a 1.90 replacement rate, so without immigration, each year we shrink in population. It’s a massive problem that many think immigration will solve. But importing elderly dependents, or those with every intention to get on our generous welfare rolls, will not help us.

Children of Men by PD James is a sober account of what happens from the opposite of Malthus’ incorrect assumptions. In a less extreme way, that is where we in the West are. A quickly shrinking tax base to support an ever increasing elderly drain. Our next generation will ask the question “Why should I wipe all these elderly asses for a pittance?” In Children of Men, the elderly are basically abandoned by the young who have no means or desire to support them.

As it seems to be the only solution, I would like to think immigration is the solution. But not in the irresponsible corrupt hands of the Libranos.

Sam, there is no comparison. There was no single nation in Canada at the time, as it was very sparsely populated by hundreds of tribes. And none of those tribes offered welfare. There was no corporate welfare, so subsidies, no tax free status, no small business banks. Nothing. So if you were coming over without the intention to work you would be dead in due time. The settlers would not have put up with free loaders for very long. And best of all, there was no liberal establishment to treat every lazy person as a victim of some kind. Also, although often from different language backgrounds, those that came over followed one of the three Christian sects with a very small handful possibly being agnostic. Not only the same religion but roughly the same value sets.

Refugees of local factional wars are best helped by relocating them to safe areas close to their homeland, not importing that war here with them.

I have to partly agree with Sam Young. It’s the culture of the immigrants that matters. A “go forth and improve the world” culture will develop robust and rich nations. A “there’s only so much pie, so I’m gonna take some of your piece because I can” culture will never develop riches, and will actively prevent others from developing them.

I am sure that if the aboriginals could turn back time, that there would be no way in hell they would let the europeans set foot on north america.
Don’t know about that, SAM YOUNG. It would be hard to take a copper pot way from an Indian woman and tell her to go back to putting hot stones in birchbark containers of water to cook her food. And an Indian man wouldn’t easily surrender his steel axe or relinquish his musket to return to bow and arrows.

When immigration is done right, it works. I am opposed to taking on the shit tone of refugees. Not because I am against immigration, but because of HOW it is being done.

Sam Young, we don’t have the jobs or the resources or even any cash for mass immigration like the Liberals want to do. With the NDP destroying Alberta, the only significant contributor to Ottawa’s coffers is now going rapidly downhill. The money simply isn’t there, and we are shedding hundreds of thousands of jobs.

The situation is simply not the same as it was in the late 17th and early 18th centuries.

There is nothing wrong with immigration. Look at how many white european settlers crossed the atlantic to settle in canada and the usa. You gonna tell me there is something wrong with that?

I’ve seen that posted by one of your loyal subscribers before. I reiterated that PM Harper was correct when he said “we need to help them where they are!!!!”

This has been a favourite of mine to show liberals when they talk about immigration. It never fails to leave them dumbfounded, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Smart man. Excellent demonstration.

It will have no impact whatsoever of Justin even if he did watch it. Trudeau’s bringing in 50,000 is all for show only. It is a “Ooooooh! Look at how compassionate we Canadians are … under a Justin Trudeau government … not like those evil Conservatives!”

Quite the Rebelation!
I’ve said that for YEARS. That if you take all the good ppl out, who’s left to improve the place? And unfortunately, if you read Why Nations Fail, you’d know there’s no single recipe for getting democracy – the only system found to actually work – off the ground. Yup, it’s a dilemma. I’d suggest everyone stop worrying about it. Those countries will have to lift themselves up, which is in fact happening. Hans Rosling has quite a number of vids on Youtube. Here’s a good one. My only objection, oddly enough, at the very end he says the West “must pay”, which runs completely contrary to his own presentation. Still worth watching though.

There was a time when Canadians used to help them over there, with peace keepers and such. But Justin is just so damned and determined to start to destroy the Canadian way of life, as long as his millions are safe.
