"It's disgusting that my generation is scared of the term 'war'"

Stephen GraystoneRebel Blogger

After the savage terrorist attacks in Paris, my Facebook news feed was understandably flooded with talk of what was happening.

I took this opportunity to see the reactions of the liberals and conservatives on my "Friends" list.

The conservatives condemned these attacks for what they were: Terrorist activities perpetrated by Islamic extremism. The liberals said they were "saddened by the recent attacks in Paris."

While my conservative friends demanded that we increase our presence in the coalition against ISIL, that Canada adhere to its role of promoting peace and being a capable and mighty force on the side of good, and declaring the innocent civilians who have been so brutally slaughtered by ISIL should not have to live in fear anymore, my liberal friends flooded my feed demanding that no one jump to conclusions as to who could be behind these attacks, changing their profile pictures to the Eiffel Tower encompassed by the peace sign, and crying racism and Islamophobia on those who dared accuse the attackers of being Muslims.

(Despite the attackers yelling "Allah Akbar" and "This is for Syria" according to multiple witnesses).

This brought me to one conclusion:

That liberals are even more cowardly than they let on.

Rather than being proactive and ending ISIS, freeing the innocent lives who currently live in fear of death everyday, liberals want to let in 25,000 refugees by Christmas. That's all they want to do.

That to them is the pinnacle of "helping." They believe changing their profile picture to a peace sign will bring about world peace. I wonder what it's like living in darkness about radical Islam.

It's disgusting that my generation is scared of the term "war." On November 11, we remember the fallen for their sacrifice in Europe, and the world, in ending tyranny, yet ask a 20-something about doing the right thing now, about going to war and they will tell you: It's none of our business.

How has my generation completely given up on morals?

Why are we not fighting ISIS with military intervention?

Why are we not fighting for the extinction of religious extremism?

Because Liberals are more concerned with not being labeled a racist or Islamophobic than actually doing the right thing. It's disgraceful.

Trudeau's Liberals MUST halt plans to bring in 25,000 Syrian refugees
until they can guarantee the safety of the Canadian people.

I Agree BZ = stay out these foreign military entanglements and don’t import the hostilities here with indiscriminate immigration.

Do not waste the lives of our military on these gratuitous military misadventures which are mostly political intrigues of the super powers.

Liberals are not scared of war – it’s just not needed. Conservative warmongers are not needed either.

We just need to get the fuck out of that part of the world and let them destroy themselves.
As a veteran of several different wars I somewhat agree – however the addition to your statement should have read -

“And do not let any of them into our country – even the so called immigrants and the migrants – they bring their baggage and hatred and attitudes with them.”

Not all of our generation are blind. Many are no doubt, but not all. I just hope enough are awake.
Did you see Canada bringing in thousands of Germans during WWI or WWII?
I have no faith in our government to properly screen refugees to separate the real from the fake.
How far we have fallen……….

Best policy is to stop all immigration and refugees until get some better policy written.

IS is trying to force a war with the West. Best policy is to just ignore them, no matter the damage they cause. They will eventual go away. We need no further wars. What has the Iraqi conflict gotten us? How about all the lost Canadian blood in Afghanistan?

Heh Nubwaxer, how about those refugees you are trying to push on us? Will you accept them to your home? Yeah, a bunch of old fat men on computers are a threat bigger than ISIS? Oh right there was that neo-Nazi attack on Parliament, oh, right it wasn’t neo-Nazis.

Nubwaxer – that would be leftwing parties who are fanatics, the right has nothing to do with extremism. Your beloved Liberals that are the extremists, and are the real haters!

nothing holding you back you big badass warrior. you go and all the kids from politicians families and kids from rich families who have the most to lose. ISIS is not our threat, right wing extremism is.

Philip – I will continue in my delusion, until you catch up to the horrors facing us today, because of our cowardly Liberal/NDP and Green watermelon politicians. We conservatives in Canada, are constantly being denied rights, because we are conservative. You can go on burying your head in the sand, and I will use my god given instincts, to try and survive the horrors that are coming our way.

The problem is not the warriors. They are brave men doing their best with the 3rd rate equipment and support they get. The problem is the civilian population. I dislike these feeble showings of solidarity like displaying the French flag, because they are meaningless. Another terrorist attack will occur in Europe, and we say “We share your pain.” Then another attack will come. “Sharing pain” does not help the dead. So I don’t think it is about bravery, but about the loss of common sense in our society. I totally reject nation building and anything less than total war. Even Protestant Just War ethic is too limited. Dresden was necessary and the West should NEVER apologize for it. If a tyrant and his nation bring war to us, then we need to bring it tenfold to him. That nation should not have started something thinking we would pussy foot around. The idea that the US for example should make its soldiers follow some lawyer written Rules of Engagement is a disservice to our warriors. They can’t look at some Jihadi lying on the floor and check to see if he intends to fire before firing on him. If as a nation I need to choose between their life and the life of our soldiers guess what I will pick. In Israel’s case, guess who wins a war of attrition. It is madness to think they should aim for “like” results. That is some liberal derangement. War is not a charity or fair exchange of goods.

I did, between 1970 and 1973. I stepped up. My grandfather volunteered in WWI and won a medal of bravery for single handedly taking out a German machinegun nest. My father volunteered in WWII, almost freezing to death while liberating Holland. Our family steps up when the call to “Stand on guard for thee” is asked of us. Would you? I doubt it.

We need to feel passion and love for our traditions and county, a love and devotion so deep that we will do whatever it takes to save our lives and way of life.
Our enimies are motivated by ideological furor. We too must rally and have faith in our ability to destroy those whose aim is to slaughter us here at home and overseas.
Every generation must learn freedom then earn it and own it and be willing to fight for it.
Rally round the flag boys and girls. Let’s stand tall and behave like adults and get the job done so that our decendants will not live under tyranny.

The Liberals spread lies, and try to make excuses for Islamic murderers. It is the reaction of cowards, and the Liberals and their leaders, are nothing but yellow-bellied cowards. Don’t trust them, and don’t follow them, or their ideology! And try not to tell them what you really think, because I get the feeling that Liberals, will soon be handing conservatives over to the enemy!
