Nanaimo cannabis grow-op is legal, but fire safety is causing neighbours to act

David MenziesMission Specialist

Grant and Regina Bracher were shocked to discover that a cannabis grow-op was operating next door in their quiet Nanaimo, B.C. residential neighbourhood.

And they were even more shocked to discover that it was perfectly legal for it to be there, despite all the inherent problems that it causes.

Reality is there are no recovery spaces available. I guess they want these people to have a source of income. That must be why they do not have a dedicated site away from residential communities and businesses.

Here is an idea build a hospital type setting with recovery as a priority. Locate it away from the fu%king dealers.
Go to treatment at this facility or go to jail.

The culture of death, perversion and vice. Anybody else miss the Old Canada?

This is nothing compared to the crap in my neighborhood since we got a safe for who injection site. All the mess and people just hanging around watching all day. Feels like these people are casing the area all the time.

All these sites should be closed. Hey Max add this to your platform please as it is federal not provincial.
Yup all here now the needles (from the shoot up kits they give away) and dealers.

The site says they have strict rules, until they leave and become our community,s problem. They dont work where do you think they get the money.

A deluge of panhandlers everywhere all the time, extra costs for business security.
Our school was a camp for these people until yesterday the police kicked them out.
Our local park (next to the school)now has needles under the trees.
This is our federal government at work.

There are probably less residential grow ops now, than there were when it was illegal. The traffic at all hours of the night would be annoying, that would be my bitch, but other than that its legal and they are registered, licensed growers so ……

Most growers have equipment to deal with any smell, are they saying they actually smell it?
What about the other side of the story?

1. JILL WARD: Nanaimo IS Canada. Vancouver Island?
2. DAN MANCUSO: If your house went up in flames, wouldn’t you be ticked? All that $$ invested in your home. You wouldn’t mind your the value of your house being affected. Or do you actually own a house?
3. RON VOSS: they don’t sound like Trudeau sympathizers to me. Did we watch the same video?

These people should contact their municipal council to have their road reviewed to designate it for heavy traffic. That should prompt an investigation.
What are the other neighbours on that street saying?

(ps: Prime Ministers are NOT referred to as ‘Mr.’ or ‘Madam’ Prime Minister. You simply call them Prime Minister. Only Presidents of countries are called Mr. or Madam President . Trudeau just L o v e sssss it when he is called Mr. Prime Minister)

Something doesn’t smell right here Menzoid…
I’ve had to deal with people like this couple before. It’s obvious in their body language, tone and pitch of voice, choice of words, attitude, etc.
Always offended by something, always got their do-gooder, busy-body noses in everybody else’s business, know-it-all bullies who have no qualms about ratting out their neighbours for anything…anonymously, and usually because of some perceived slight, or something they just don’t like about you. Wah wah wah.
Every ‘problem’ he listed was pure whiny BS – children smelling growing marijuana plants?! Oh my God! Not that!
Are you kidding…
The both of them reek of that ‘entitled, retired government employees’ stench, with too much time and money on their hands, whose house is just as much of a fire risk as anyone else’s is…
I’m sure glad I don’t have to live near them!

Hard to be sympathetic to this Trudeau lover.

JILL WARD
I think the Rebel staff are walking a very narrow path these days. One wrong word and Trudeau’s Henchmen will be all over the Rebel with the bent key of censorship cocked and loaded. They are just waiting for the excuse that will shut The Rebel down.

Never was in to Drugs, other than a few Cool-aids but I think Grow-Op’s, by law should be kept away from residential areas.
Only ‘Pot’ that I know about is the ‘Crack Pot’ that calls himself Prime Minister and I think he is permanently Buzzed Out.

is it just me or has the Rebel begun to realize canada is gone /lost cause as are canuks, so now they are concentrating more on other countries instead?
Just wondering.
