The former Alberta NDP's Justice Minister has admitted that “hate speech” should be her own personal kill switch for speakers she doesn't like.
Rachel Notley and her cohort of disgraced Alberta NDP MPs have made opposing free speech on university campuses their latest cause, despite Notley's statement that:
“This is not about free speech on campus - we already have free speech.”
So what's the problem? I'll let Kathleen Ganley, the former provincial Justice Minister take it from here:
“Hate speech is prohibited.... the point of this move [where campuses in Alberta are pledging their own versions of the free speech Chicago Principles after being directed by UCP Premier Jason Kenney] is to allow the the Ann Coulter’s and John Carpay’s of the world to speak from a stage.”
We always knew that the NDP have wanted to ban individuals they didn't like. It's just weird to see them admit it.
