NDP candidate for Guelph, Ontario called Christians “mentally ill”

Dean SkoreykoRebel Blogger

It’s fairly common to find Lefties who espouse Jack Layton’s "Love letter" like NDP candidate Andrew Seagram does:

to be in fact very hateful people:

Now tell me Seagram would still be a NDP candidate had he had said Muslims were “mentally ill” and that he is repulsed by them.

Update: Seagram isn’t the only Christian-basher, here’s a tweet from Chris Markevich, the Database Administrator inside the NDP’s war room:

Mohammed’s beard, not a chance.

This quote has been taken out of context. Andrew Seagram was referring to Bush/Cheney supporters not Christians. He actually said:
“…clearly anyone who believes that the Bush/Cheney government is not bankrupt on every level is either mentally ill or a huge friend of Jesus. Either way stay away from me.” -Facebook Sept 2007.
We can take your post out of context too, Dean, watch:

The local paper, the Guelph Mercury, has an interesting story on the alleged quote. Rebel readers may read it here:
What I find interesting is that the Mercury reports that they were unable to independently confirm that these remarks were said or written….
The Mercury has not independently verified whether these comments are actually from Seagram’s Facebook page. His personal page appears to have been taken down.
A community page relating to his NDP candidacy does not contain any such remarks.
Were you able to impudently confirm that these remarks were said or written before writing this post? Do you have a screencap or “Internet Web Archive” type evidence to back up what you write?
If you do, great, amend the post to use and cite it.
If not, I respectfully suggest that you consider that it would be in your source’s political interest to kneecap this NDP candidate with an Internet whispering campaign.
I would have waited until I had independent confirmation, myself, but that is just me…

I may be “mentally ill”, but he’s as much as admitted he’s spiritually dead. His is a much worse condition.

I think this guy doesn’t like Christians because he is always mistaken for a baptist minister, after all he kinda looks like one

It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’”
Someday Mr. Seagram will bow his knees as well, even if he doesn’t believe it now.

Jason Lavallee – there is no need to apologize for what you said, as you stated the truth. The hardest part of being a Christian, for me at least, is remembering, that what is happening in the world today, must take place, in order to fulfill God’s plan.

I don’t think you should be apologizing.
For one thing, what you said was honest – from the heart. And a whole heck of a lot of people feel the same way!
For another, sub-human-acting cretins like Seagram and fellow travelers – and there’s a whole whack o’ them out there – need a smack-down (figuratively) for their petulant rudeness’s and willingness to insult without consequence – because the target is Christian!
There are also several instances in the Bible where Jesus wasn’t a pacifist, and in appropriate circumstances.
Personally I won’t ‘turn the other cheek’ when there’s a knife at my throat – wielded by a mugger, an Islamist or a morally bankrupt politician wannabe. That’d be my instinct battling my need to believe in Jesus Christ and the Good News.
I agree about not seeking revenge and why (Romans 12:19), but, standing up to an evil agenda that is directly attacking you because you’re Christian is not revenge, it’s self defense and it’s just, and someone better start standing up…

ok… this is hard for me as I’m still ticked about this. Part of being a Christian IS to turn the other cheek.. I’m not very good at it yet. I just got so angry… I mean I’m soo sick of Christians being the butt of societies jokes while they blindly accept islam (which calls for the killing of unbelievers) as acceptable. After I posted the comment, I felt a huge twinge of guilt. I realized that I responded in a decidedly un-Christian fashion. So that being said, I withdraw my previous comment and apologize. It was wrong. It is not my place to try and get satisfaction.

Romans 12:19King James Version (KJV)
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

The email I sent to Andrew Seagram:
Saw your little ad calling us Christians mentally ill. You sir, are a COWARD! You wouldn’t DARE go into a muslim community and try to pull the same crap… too scared. I was injured and released medically after deploying to the Persian Gulf. I served my country faithfully, only to come home and find that cowards like you like to pick on and insult the faith that is supposed to “turn the other cheek”. Sir, I cordially invite you to come to my residence and say the same to this Christian’s face. Please accept my offer… and bring cameras… I would like the world to see what a coward you really are.

Andrew Seagram… the kind of person who would pick on Christians (who are supposed to “turn the other cheek”, but wouldn’t DARE go into a muslim neighborhood and try the same kind of thing… Coward.. plain and simple.

I just sent Seagram this email:
“…Andrew Seagram;
In response to this:
I would like to say this to your face, but will have to settle for the internet – and yes, it isn’t very Christian:
You sir are a bully, a coward and an asshole!

It’s easy enough to ridicule, demonize, threaten and murder Christians – especially today. The bullies and cowards doing the Christian Persecution thing know that some Christian isn’t going to sue him, or bitch slap him or cut off his head. Cowards and bullies and haters…
I wonder if these intellectually challenged, morally bankrupt socialists, degenerates and demon worshipers actually know what the Bible says about them and what they do – and what their ‘reward’ will be?
commented 2015-08-12 17:54:53 -0400
It’s funny that he said that, because I actually think socialism is a mental disorder, and should be noted so, in the Medical Journals. I am a believer in the one and only triune God, the God of creation!

But ,more importantly you missed the point of the cowardly and hateful belittling of a man who stupidly, expects no support from certain peoples for the public office he aspires too.
commented 2015-08-12 14:32:15 -0400
And you jimmy believe in yourself………correct?
commented 2015-08-12 14:03:09 -0400
Well Christians believe in an invisible man who lives in the sky and a talking snake – he may have a point.
