NDP suffer “catastrophic” by-election losses: Pro-Trump UCP candidate wins “bigly”

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

Last night the United Conservatives won two by-elections in Alberta — one in Fort McMurray-Conklin and the other in Innisfail-Sylvan Lake — both ridings previously won by Wild Rose in 2015.

The story of the day wasn’t the predictable wins but rather, the complete and total collapse of the NDP vote, especially in Innisfail-Sylvan Lake.

That’s because the NDP, their government-funded press secretaries and their friends in the mainstream media, ran an enormous smear campaign against the UCP’s Devin Dreeshen.

And what was the smear? Apparently, Dreeshen was guilty of the crime of being a Trump supporter. He wore a MAGA hat!

Imagine being so out of touch with the sentiments of rural Alberta that you’d think accusing a conservative candidate of supporting a Republican President was an effective way to scare away conservative voters.

If anything, knowing that Dreeshen was a bold Trump supporting conservative made me like him even more and it seems the voters of Innisfail-Sylvan Lake thought so too.

Dreeshen won his riding with 82% of the vote. Nicole Mooney, the NDP candidate who publicly renounced a key tenet of her religious faith for the opportunity to run for the NDP, finished with a pathetic 9%.

After over a week of the NDP and their surrogates calling Dreeshen and his supporters anti-woman, xenophobic, homophobic, any-phobic something or others, Dreeshen finished with a stronger vote share than anybody could have expected.

I hope the NDP smear machine stays in high gear because at this rate, Jason Kenney will die of old age in the premier's office.

Nationalist parties are rising in different countries in response to the globalist agenda.

I have no faith in any of our federal political parties, but one party could be the solution to Jihadi Trudeau…

Support Canadian values
Reduce immigration
Deport illegal migrants
Death penalty for treason
Support the right to self-defense
Abolish the federal carbon tax
And more

They just had rallies all over Canada.

If anyone wants to verify the tariff talk by the american president on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, you can scroll to the 9:20 on the counter to quickly locate Trumps message to Maria

Speaking of Tariffs supposedly implemented on Canadians by our american neighbours. There was an interview Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo July 1/2018 talking on this. In the interview, Trump states that before he went to meet with Kim Jong Ung, he attended a G7 meeting on talks about tariffs with these 7 countries including Canada and he stated flat out that when he offered everyone in the room that he was willing to take 100% of the tariffs off with all of them if they did the same. He said they immediately ALL wanted to change the subject. So when anyone suggests that he is evil and is ruining all countries, they can go fly a kite. Our bold Canadian negotiators should be put in jail for creating Canadas trade issues!!

When retired school teacher Earl Dreeshen became a Member of Parliament in 2008 the first order of business was finding government sinecure for his 19 year old son, Devin, then struggling at college. Ag Minister Gerry Ritz stepped up and gave young Devin a proper posting which he occupied for the next eight years before moving on to a consulting gig and then a paid position in the Trump campaign. Laila Goodridge got her poli-sci BA from U of A’s francophone Campus St Jean before heading to Ottawa to work as a staffer for MPs and Ministers. Returning to Edmonton she worked for MLAs Brian Jean and Tany Yao. These are career politicians. They are insiders in the “uni-party”, i.e. the media party; just like their mentors Kenney and Sheer. This is exactly what Ford and Trump are not! Get ready for Alison Redford 2.0.

Think it be fair to say Dreeshen got elected as a result of a vote against NDP. Any other Candidate would most likely have booked a similar result

Robert Dunning… Maybe not stunning losses given what is about to come in the next general election in Alberta, but can you blame these constituencies for “bloodying” Flush Notely’s nose???

The NDP loss wasn’t because of shortage road signs, Their care for the environment was damn obvious as was their unlimited tax dollars spending

Andy Neimers said 11 hrs ago," When the UCP start playing real hardball on pipeline policies."

Andy, I hope that you are correct and Kenney fights like Trump on many issues; however I feel that Alberta will instead have a soft Theresa May in charge, a person that says good things and does the opposite.

Good one. I did the same thing when I got a robo-call last election from the Liberals. It is also fun to go to the stupid on line polls that Constant Trudeau Vision and others put forth & screw with them accordingly.

Notley and her gang of communists need to suffer a Custer’s Last Stand defeat in the upcoming election.
Nothing other than their complete destruction is acceptable.

Keep em commin Alberta. Oh and if the MSM calls me,of course I will tell them I am voting NDP.

It would be the greatest gift to Canada to see the NDP and Liebrals swatted like a horse fly.

I hope this trend continues and all socialists are removed from governance in the next Alberta election.
How to ruin a province in less than four years?
Damn socialists.

When will the left learn that people on the right like Trump?
commented 2018-07-14 01:50:46 -0400
Like you, Sheila, my concern is Kenney’s tendency to suck up to the MSM, openly disrespecting Trump, continuing to avoid the Rebel, and showing a bit too much support for Trudeau in a trade war that JUSTIN created.
I just hope when he becomes premier Kenney doesn’t move further to the left as I suspect he might.

Starky and all his aliases are imploding, and when the Alberta and federal elections result in the total demise and destruction of the NDP and liberals, he will wither into his true form, that of a salted slug. But he will still be around, just like hillary.

Since it’s obvious which way Alberta is going to go come the next election, that has interesting implications for us here in British Columbia… When the UCP start playing real hardball on pipeline projects, both the Horgan/Weaver Tango in B.C., and the Boy Blunder in Ottawa, are going to be forced to put up or shut up… Horgan/Weaver may be able to to play footsie given the length of their mandate, but the Boy Blunder is sure going to be up for scrutiny…

Can’t wait for the federal election.
One year….and it will all be over.
Trudeau will have to spend all his time in the office then and we’ll be so sick of hearing him cry. If anyone thinks he’s a spoiled brat now, wait ’til he loses.

Alberta , I’m happy about election results, although predictable.
What I don’t understand and hope someone can help me is; it appears that there is now 60 to 70% Conservatives in Alberta, where as the media is far left. Why don’t the majority Conservatives organize a campaign to BOYCOTT all left media whether Radio Stations, TV Stations or most important, Newspapers. There are companies for hire that will do that.
The MSM couldn’t possibly survive financially with only 30% of the people supporting them, especially when most of them don’t follow Politics and support the MSM.
I would like to see these Leftest Journalists on welfare, like their Refugee friends.

Let’s see now.
Socialists in Alberta and BC
Commies in Quebec and the Maritimes!
Time for Ontario to separate!

But wait a minute….isn’t Ontario full of “Easterners”?

Wow, Dreeshen wore a MAGA hat! I couldn’t imagine Kenney doing so who like to virtue signal that he dislikes Trump.

True conservatives should be mindful of “5 Ways Trump Shows How to Win elections”

In particular, “The future belongs to Republicans who care more about their voters than the media”, which for our Alberta context can be rephrased as, “The future belongs to UCPers who care more about their voters than the media”.

Casting the last lines of this article into the Alberta context, “But the old way of politics is dead. The future belongs to UCPers who listen to their base instead of their consultants. The future belongs to UCPers who care more about what their supporters think of them than what the media does."

The left’s back-fired smear campaign demonstrates the merit of conservatives adhering to this winning formula, that is, play to your base and don’t kowtow to the media.
