Neil Young selling $24M estate (No, not the one on stolen Indian land...)

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Neil Young -- aging folk singer and environmentalist scold -- is selling his $24M house. No, not his huge California ranch (built on stolen Indian land) but his massive estate in Hawaii.

How do you feel about a guy with a $100M net worth, jetting up to Canada (probably using OPEC fuel) to lecture us about the "evil" oil sands and how we're "living too large"?

READ Ezra Levant's bestselling books debunking environmentalist propaganda against the energy industry:
Groundswell: The Case for Fracking
Ethical Oil: The Case for Canada's Oil Sands

Tim Hortons has declared war on Canada’s energy industry.

Neil sure looks like an “angry old man” these days! When he came back to Canada to trash our “oil sands,” I sent all of my Neil Young collection to the recycling bin. And I made sure that nobody would ever listen to my Neil Young vinyl records again.

Seems to me that Richard Brinkman is letting his bias towards Neil Young’s music interfere with his limited common sense. If he did some neutral fact checking, he’d see that Neil Young is a hypocritical enviro, that is only using the Oil Sands topic to get people to notice him again. I have no issue with anyone, regardless of their career, to sound off on any topic, but at least make sure you are covering all your facts. What I never understood is why Canada and the US, would want to buy oil that uses slave labor and substandard machinery and is an environmental disaster, when they could be using home grown resources that is creating jobs for our own economy, could be potentially cheaper if the right deals were made, and is proven to be one of the worlds most environmentally safest.

RICHRD BRINKMAN still ducking my second question if he supports the notion of man-made contribution to global warming through GHG emissions. Although he did tell me that he is a big fan of Neil Young and his music as if I had asked or care to know.

And most of his money came from vinyl record sales. Vinyl, being a by-product of oil refining, makes old man a complete Hippocrate

Richard I should have looked at the link about Joe being fine before I replied below.
I just looked at the link and see that I am not the only one who was concerned about the welfare of this guy that you guys exploited. I was not stereotyping was I?
Again what qualifications does he have?
commented 2015-08-11 21:14:05 -0400
Richard, sorry did not mean to stereotype, but the way this was presented it sure provoked that thought.
Anyway, you did not answer the question – what qualifications does River valley Joe posses to have a say in the future of the planet that you present in a way that everyone should take heed?
I mean anyone can have a say and give their opinion. But what qualifications makes him worthy to listen to?
commented 2015-08-11 19:59:54 -0400
Richard Brinkman, what you seem to be missing from what the people here are saying about the Global Warming scam is that they deal only in cold hard facts, not what some person, scientist or not, said. Scientist can lie to protect their eco-study grant money. Cold hard facts do not lie.

As a ‘Canadian’ by birth, living in foreign lands and not contributing anything to the prosperity of Canada, Mr. YOUNG should stay away and abstain from giving us advice on anything. It is common knowledge that most of the Hollywood artists are left wing supporters and hypocrites who would sell their soul to make an extra buck.

Mr. YOUNG, please go away! Your pal Barack is calling for a late serenade. You have no right and no standing to show up and disrespect us with your diatribes. Shame on you for betraying the land and nation from which you were born!

It has always amazed me how multimillionaires and billionaires can preach to everyone about the error of our ways and how we are destroying the planet. Yet none of them are willing to put their money where their big mouths are.
I wonder how much Neil got paid a while back to come out to Alberta and bitch at us about the evils of the oil sands. You can bet he did not do this and not get compensated for his bombastic speeches.

MARTY ASHFIELD you certainly misjudged Joe – Meal and some Shelter?
Do you always stereotype people into categories you have no clue about?
Joe’s fine!
commented 2015-08-11 18:43:27 -0400
Richard Brinkman, who the hell is ‘River Valley Joe’? what are his qualifications to say anything about the future of the planet. Looked to me that instead of exploiting this guy you guys could have offered him a meal and some shelter.
commented 2015-08-11 15:57:09 -0400
This is not Ezra Levant, Neil Young or David Suzuki talking, but one man many people have said “Joe you are right on the mark.” This is what Joe had to say about the future of our planet –
Listen up you right wing, left wing and everything in between…

RICHARD BRINKMAN, pretty self-serving with pumping out what turns out to be your own stuff. You answered one question out of two. Ducking the second one about your stand on global warming and man-made contribution especially by Canada through GHG emissions?

Young is free to try to sell his Hawaii estate. I’m just as free to ignore what he says. Personally (lyrics aside), I don’t care much (to put it extremely lightly) for his music style; but he’s free to record his style and I’m free to choose something else. What really gets me is his “celebrity” status condemning the oilsands, when he knows next to nothing about it, and does next to zero research. As I posted on another topic here, I visited a cousin in Fort Macmurray. I saw bitumen oozing out of a cutbank and into a creek. I have in my possession two “stones” that are actually a bitumen/sand conglomeration, picked up from the shore of that same creek. How is man polluting the water when nature has been doing it for decades, if not centuries? Carbon dioxide “pollution” aside, how can Young condemn the harvesting of the oilsands, when he refuses to see what’s been happening in Nature?

But I don’t like the American tax laws, and I ain’t got a spare $24M, so I’ll pass on the “estate”. Thanks anyways…

To: Brinkman, I’m repeating an earlier posting as a follow-up to Dale Warren’s insightful comment.
“How long will it take for mindless eco-whackos, ignorant celebrities, and stupid people generally, to get it through their thick heads that when the numbers are crunched properly, i.e. without spin, bias or to achieve a pre-determined outcome, we would find that Canada (aside perhaps from some zero populated desert island) has about the lowest, gentlest carbon footprint (I hate that expression) on the planet. Factor in Canada’s huge surface area share of the earth for which Canadians are the stewards, our country’s meagre population, our modest total so-called greenhouse gas emissions, and determine each individual Canadian’s contribution, per acre, to this perceived assault on our environment. We can try e-mailing our answers to Neil Young, Kofi Annan, David Suzuki, Al Gore, Elizabeth May and the like and see if they can come up with a country that’s gentler on the planet than Canada.”

Young is the poster child for absolutely everything he demonizes and rallies against. What a total, A-hole, hippy-crit.
commented 2015-08-11 14:12:48 -0400
$24,000,000 should buy a lot of jet fuel for Mr. Young to fly up to Canada for more anti-oilsands protests. Sigh…

The fact that the sheer hypocrisy of these anti-Canadian-economy celebrities never occurs to them should tell us something about the amount of time they spend actually thinking about their positions on oil and their own lifestyles. Sigh…

@richard-dinkman – just so you know dick, when you arrive on this site and spew your crap, you help The Rebel by improving their traffic results and generate more revenue for The Rebel through their online ads.

So dick, call up all your CBC/red-star/slob and snail buddies and get them hate spewing over here – makes Ezra and The Rebel more successful than they already are.

Brinkman . . . . name a country that is Cleaner and Greener than CANADA today ? What you can’t?
Why am I not surprised? The insane far-left Foreign Funded Enviro loons are Shilling for the Marxists at the UN that want to Tax and Control the Masses. The last desperate attempt at Global Governance . . . to deep for a Dipper I am sure !

To his Credit . . . emissions have actually DROPPED under the Conservative Govt . . . the First Govt in Canadian History that could say that. But hey Dick . . . . CO2 is Plant Food . . . and because of Canada’s vast territory, small population and extensive greenery . . . . Canada is likely a NET Carbon Sink . . . emissions ZERO ! ! !

RON VOSS – Yes Ross, Indeed I am the same Doug Brinkman publisher of Edmonton’s Active Citizenship – Free News Sharing since 2007, here on The Rebel Media by personal invitation by Ezra Levant himself – By the way Ezra loves FREEDOM OF THE PRESS just as much as I do as a citizen news reporter. I like that about Ezra! My front page is

But all the heavy controversal news stories are on my back pages

I’m also a big fan of Neil Young and his Music!
commented 2015-08-11 12:29:08 -0400
Since Brinkman brought it up and Voss (using last names only as MSM loves it that way) mentioned it, here is a great discussion, something that is so lacking with the extremist on global warming…. …i will understand if you already made your mind up and won’t change because many suffer from cognitive dissonance.

Bias toward the communist VLAD?
That’s so funny for you to say VLAD since I find it’s the Communists, Marxist Leninist of Edmonton who get nervous and paranoid thinking I’m a cop whenever I come around armed with my citizen free news truth camera.

Synopsis: Bill C51 Rally hosted by Edmonton’s Communists Marxist Leninis featuring MP Linda Duncan, NDP and Green Party candidates, caught policing crowds and disrupting Free Speech and Freedom of the Press now on YouTube

RICHARD BRINKMAN, “move on to more important news issues”, like NDP candidate Gil McGowan, concerned about Harper thumbing his nose at the environment. Seriously? Tell us Richard, do you believe in global warming caused by man-made greenhouse gas emissions? Also, are you in any way related to Doug Brinkman the source of the Active Citizenship – Free News Sharing videos that you so generously share? By the way, not really sour grapes as you suggest, but about hypocrisy.

Looky Looky everyone – duh-silva has a bro – @richard-dinkman – shouldn’t you run off to the CBC site dick????

I hear there’s some islamic terrorists that need some protective verbiage on the CBC site there dick – off you go now.

So you see a bit more bias toward the communist pigs like no-cair and troodo – dick. Not surprising coming from you dick.
