New Brunswick Liberals expect oil jobs to save the province, yet ban fracking

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

It's a pretty poor political message for the Liberal Party to attack oil and gas.

Brian Gallant ran on an anti-fracking campaign. When he won the New Brunswick election, he brought in a fracking moratorium.

Yet he expects oil and gas to rebuild his province from its near double-digit unemployment rate. How's that going to happen when you ban those jobs?

If Stephen Harper was a conservative, he would make transfer payments contingent upon a ‘no fracking ban’ policy in each province wanting other provinces’ money. But of course, he won’t, because he isn’t really a conservative and hasn’t been for years. That’s why we still have a taxpayer-funded state broadcaster and that’s why Canada is the only country in the world besides North Korea to have no law whatsoever on killing babies in the womb.

Got news for you Brian Gallant! When you drill an oil or gas well, you need to perforate the casing, which is mainly done with explosive Shape Charges. Same general idea as the armor piercing charge on those RPG’s you seen on TV. Then you need to Fracture the formation. No other way to get any oil or gas from the formation to surface. Can’t have one without the other. Even water wells have some form of perforations in the casing. Otherwise it’s kinda hard to get stuff from the outside of a pipe designed to hold pressure, to the inside.

Equalization is the dumbest think the federal government implemented (1937) , its nothing more than provincial welfare, it merely encourages provinces not to develop their resources

What else should one expect from a Liberal.

I cannot imagine the storm of illogic and contradictions that rage manically through the grey matter in the left winger’s head.

The pro-frackers were all out west working on election day apparently. Now with the oil downturn, they could be drilling and fracking for gas at home. No they’ll collect EI instead.

I believe the whole system of transfer payments should stop immediately. Each province should have to make its own way. All financial relationships and mutual cooperation agreements should be negotiated at the Provincial level. Let the Federal Government look after National and International matters and stay out of Provincial economic relationships. But, of course it will never happen, so I don’t eve3n know why I’m typing this.

Left wing lunacy run amuck- Nova Scotia liberals also wiped out the natural gas industry and as of last week they also wiped out the film production industry taking 2100 jobs with it overnight. The liberal mindset appears to be a form of mental disorder.

Egil, i agree but in NB the french vote won with a couple of close splits in fredericton, they rule the roost, thus the best have to live with the rest…NB will not see the pipeline until ON and Quebec have a change of heart or gov’t.

Of course he expects Oil & Gas to save him… send more transfer payments from the oil rich provinces & territories. Duh free money is always better than working for it. Silly he still has other peoples money.

Canada needs to redefine (or eliminate) transfer payments in light of the attitude of those provinces that opt-out or restrict oil and gas development, as well as apply cap and trade taxes, before Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the territories give serious consideration to opting out of confederation.

Also cut transfer payments to provinces with criminal, inept governments that don’t even try to make things better for us, and only their friends get the benefits.
If the province is not trying… they get nothing!

You voted for them.
You are paid not to work.
You base decisions on emotions rather than facts.
Are you surprised by the outcome?
