New charges in Sudbury by-election scandal: Will orange be the new black for Wynne and company?

Brian LilleyArchive

Charges have finally been laid in the Sudbury by-election bribery scandal now that the OPP managed to find prosecutors who would do it, though they aren’t criminal code charges.

After criminal charges originally laid against Sudbury Liberal kingmaker Gerry Lougheed were stayed, new charges have been laid against Lougheed and Pat Sorbara under the Elections Act.

Why does this spell serious trouble for Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals?

Watch as I provide an update and layout a case for why this latest development puts Kathleen Wynne’s leadership in serious jeopardy.

@leviticus 2013…I was aquainted with Doug Christie…he was an ardent western separatist…the problem with the concept is unless you get BC on board…not likely…count on it you will never get your oil or your natural resources to tide water.

Wynne is Ontario’s Hillary.

They knew they were pulling a fast one and yet they didn’t have a face-to-face discussion rather than the telephone? Why didn’t they just put it in writing and simply leave a paper trail for everyone to know?
Demonstrates how forward and confident Wynne is in doing whatever corrupt thing she pleases to do…and doesn’t even consider or be concerned about being caught.
Brian, I hope you’re right. I’d hate to get my hopes up that maybe, just maybe this will get rid of her.

How she keeps dodging the bullet is truly beyond belief. She learned well from McGuilty. I bet she bales to the US, just like her cowardly leader did.

I wonder when Wynne will start crying homophobia or sexism in her defence.
I’m sure Trudeau is already making sure that no charges stick.

Liberals are the most corrupt and unethical group in western democracy!

Sorry but Patrick Brown is indistinguishable from Kathleen Wynne. There is no reason to vote for the PC’s as Brown’s Carbon Tax puts the PCs on the same energy poverty path as the Liberals. And like Wynne, Brown ’s word means nothing the way he betrayed the social conservatives who put him in as leader.

I have no choice but to vote for the candidate who will beat the PC candidate in my riding to yet again vote for a new PC leader. It’s too bad we can’t vote out the PC party elites who keep convincing the PC leader of the day to commit to a losing strategy. Maybe there is hope for 2022,

And what has Patrick “Missing In Action” Brown has to say about this?… Anybody?….

I doubt it will amount to anything more than a theatrical exercise to convince the sleepwalking Ontario electorate that there is still a functional justice system or police function which will hold the political elite to the same laws we are expected to obey.

If that province had a functioning justice and policing system, Wynne would have been defending against multiple charges for the past 2 years and be either in jail or booted from office.

But Ontario has no functional justice system any more than it has a functional government.

It will be interesting to watch how he Ontario media deal with this… Although the majority will continue to kiss Winnie The Poo’s butt, come hell or high water, there may now be some breaks in the ranks as some journalists try to “distinguish” themselves from the decimation going on in newsrooms across Ontario… One way to do that obviously would be to turn “honest commentator” and help push her off the looming canyon wall… So, “stay tuned” folks…

She may get in but she won’t get a majority… The only people that will vote for her are diehard liberal’s and our brand-new non-mainstream Canadian citizens.

Knowing the mentality/intellect of Ontarians/Canadians, I say she gets another majority next election! a long slow , painful suicide with liberals in power.
