Ezra Levant: Left-wing billionaire Pierre Omidyar is funding Media Freedom Conference

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On the first day of the Defend Media Freedom Conference in London, UK, I challenged panelists Nishant Lalwani (Director of Investments, Independent Media for a company that is part of The Omidyar Group) and Maria Ressa (CEO of Rappler.com). I questioned how unbiased this conference can be, given that the man behind it is billionaire media tycoon Pierre Omidyar, and they are on his payroll:

He gives large to the American Democrats and the Anti- Trump campaign and is linked to Soros and others. If Ezra, Sheila and Andrew weren’t asking these questions they would not get asked. The world needs to know and understand the agenda. Because there seems to be agenda. I think the ‘powers that be’ are attempting to get out ahead of the coming
free speech sht storm by strengthening their brand to come off as the bestest, most ethical, fair and virtuous global philanthropists. Do they hide behind their good deeds? Its imperative that they are believed or their whole modus operandi evaporates.

They look like ideology driven sjw’s to me, who aren’t hiding it very well. I’m not even saying that all of them are not well meaning, only that they are decidedly not unbiased. Who is. Any conservative philanthropists donating to the group or any conservative outfits?

How can they have a conference called Defending Media Freedom and not a peep about Tommy Robinson? They are all afraid to go against the narrative. Hell they help create the narrative.

Making the media party sweat a little is always a good thing as is exposing hypocrisy if it exists. Why should anyone trust this millionaire any more than Murdock?

Ezra said,“I questioned how unbiased this conference can be, given that the man behind it is billionaire media tycoon Pierre Omidyar, and they are on his payroll”, I would say, more or less if not overtly. Its a fair question. It sounds like they want to support good deeds in the world, but there is nothing wrong with trying to clarify where they are coming from.

Its a very globalist focused group by the sound of it to me and has a decidedly social justice slant to it. Other peoples idea of global social justice always make me nervous.

Personally I think this trip has already been worth it. Its an issue we in Canada need to pay attention to as much as anyone, anywhere.

“The Giving Pledge PAM PIERRE
The Omidyars’ joined the The Giving Pledge in 2010. Read their commitment letter here. The Giving Pledge is an effort to help address society’s most pressing problems by inviting the world’s wealthiest individuals and families to commit to giving more than half of their wealth to philanthropy or charitable causes either during their lifetime or in their will.”

Could understand Ezra but those on the stage sounded like they were in a echo chamber.
