Emily Lau tells Avi Yemini: “This is Hong Kong, not Tiananmen Square”

Avi YeminiGuest Contributor

Emily Lau is Foreign Affairs Coordinator for the Hong Kong Democratic Party. In this in-depth conversation, she told me what the uprising in Hong Kong is really about, why Hong Kong is so important to China's economy, and noted that Canada in particular has a vested interest in de-escalating any conflict.

Most Westerners would count on the humanity of the Chinese people to NOT have another Tienanmen Square…
BUT…this is Communist Red China, a totalitarian state, an authoritarian, fascist dictatorship…and like all communists, et al, they have NO humanity, just communism…so don’t be surprised when the blood bath/crack down comes.
Communist Red China – Justin Trudeau’s favorite dictatorship – especially now when Trudeau The Traitor, Globalist destroyer of Canada, is in the process of…well…destroying Canada for his Globalist Masters!

How ugly can this get…

Compare this to Portland, Oregon.
N. Americans are pretty pathetic when you think of it.

Excellent interview.
CBC already is reporting this story 4th or 5th story on their newscast. It should be first.
KEITH BARNES: re: Jihadi Jack. Get out your cheque books everyone; we have another $10m payout coming up.

Jihad’i Jack and his wife have been stripped of their British Citizenship. Problem for Canada, they also have Canadian Citizenship. Whatever,Trudeau would have let them in anyway..

Good interview. I hope she is right, but regarding Canada’s statement (?), didn’t Freeland dis the protesters who were by and large peaceful?
Good reminder, that it isn’t a border between Hong Kong and China, it is but a boundary, and that Hong Kong isn’t a democracy but has been granted freedoms(?) I hope Emily Lau is correct and this Hong Kong protest won’t end up like the one in Tiananmen Square.

Excellent interview! Emily Lau wonderfully articulates the situation in Hong Kong and why a violent suppression of the protestors would be a very bad idea. Good job, Avi, in finding such an excellent person to interview.

Note that we heard it from Emily Lau about the importance of protecting freedom not just for the citizens of Hong Kong and the rest of the free world, but also because 300,000 Canadians are working there. Prime Minister Trudeau has said nothing about this. Why hasn’t Trudeau demanded that the two Canadians arrested in China and jailed two years ago be released? And this man who is no doubt one of the worst prime ministers that Canada has ever had wants to be re-elected in October. Thanks to Rebel Media for covering the story.

Top quality interview. Avi has always been good at this cold, hard interviewing where there is no format or script to follow.
