SPECIAL! “Fake news,” “feelings” more important than freedom at government media conference

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

I've spent the last two days at the so-called Defend Media Freedom Conference in London, UK. Frankly, it was a bit depressing.

TONIGHT I'll share some of the highlights and lowlights:

My experience on a panel with younger journalists, most of whom didn't care as much about freedom than they did "hurt feelings;" the incredible moment when other journalists — including from the CBC and even Al-Jazeera — stood up for The Rebel's right to report the news; my heated debate with Pakistan's Foreign Minister, about the censorship of the press in his country; and so much more!

WATCH all my reports and those of Sheila Gunn Reid, and help support our independent journalism, as we take you inside the Defend Media Freedom Conference, at MediaFreedomConference.com.

George Orwell was far ahead of his time. Were he alive today, he’d be shocked at how precient his 1984 book was. We don’t have telescreens but we do have a digital monitor of everything we’ve ever written or spoken. I’ve noticed this Orwellian tendency of “progressives” that they do the opposite of whatever they call their programs and policies. Let’s hope that real people can see through this double think insanity.

Potemkin village is an apt analogy. This is a hollow farce going on in the same country that jails journalists. Fitting. That confrontation with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister exposed just what a joke this conference was.

How long will it be before the likes of Trudeau controls speech by cutting offenders toungs out.

In regard to Crusty Freekland’s fascist actions, are these ‘people’ just really stupid or are they going for it…the in-your-face, jackboot on your neck, Globalist takeover?

Hey Ezra, do us all a favour. Send Scheer-the-steer a bit of your guts, balls and honesty.

Damn Ezra, it’s one thing to watch your studio show every day (which I do) but man, it’s awesome to watch you on the field of battle, in the wolf’s den, in the third dimension. You are ON FIRE. Still one of the best “boots on the ground” reporters PERIOD. Amazing stuff. You literally owned that room.

Was there ever a more inappropriate name for someone than “Freeland”? Tyrantland perhaps or maybe “Controlfreakland” or “Autocratland” or "Despotland or “Serfland” ?Or… well you get the idea.

Ezra, betcha The Rebel never is allowed into any government “conference” again. Good job though. “Speaking truth to power”. Isn’t that the Leftist mantra until it doesn’t suit them?

Let me correct myself.
Those journalists may have seen ‘a’ light, but they are not to be trusted.
They’ll stab TheRebel and each other in the back.

This may have only been jet lag that caused their moment of sincerity.

STANDING APPLAUSE EZRA!
I guess he would have been signing his own death certificate had the young Pakistan guy said anything. Too bad he hadn’t, because there were probably others there who agreed as well.

It is a farce, but those other journalist who so quickly voiced their disapproval and backed TheRebel and TN have seen the light.

Rock on Ezra and Sheila.

WAIT TO GO, EZRA! This is pure gold. Thank you for everything you do, especially sticking it to Censorious Thugs.

Ezra you rained on their parade! They will be gunning for you now, but keep fighting for freedom of speech. All freedom hinges upon our ability to speak freely. It takes one with courage such as you have to lead!

I am grateful that you are standing up Ezra, for what’s right in the face of so much wrong.

A moment of clarity is deeply appreciated. Whatever differences we may have ideologically free speech we all can be grateful for the shared values of free speech which our forefathers gave their lives for and many today are still paying a huge price. I think it’s also an admission that we aren’t the Nazis or KKK some in government and media have tried to portray us as. Again huge thanks.

Good Job Ezra. The Jewish kid on the block stuck a wedge in between the Bull Shitters Freedom of speech Conference. LOL
commented 2019-07-11 20:39:46 -0400
Freedom of speech is a thing of the past in these enlightened days, all that we have left is fake speak, a language spoken by politicians in their once respected Parliaments. Trudeau speaks this language well, even with his um er ah duuh added in.

Was it just me or do I detect the first twangs of a London accent breaking through in Ezra’s voice. Of course in London he stands just as good a chance of developing a Pakistani accent.

I hope that Pakistani journalist doesn’t “go missing” when he gets back to Pakistan but I would not be shocked if he did.
