Rebel Roundup: Guests Ezra Levant, Sheila Gunn Reid

David MenziesMission Specialist

Welcome to Rebel Roundup, ladies and gentlemen – and the rest of you – in which we look back at some of the very best commentaries of the week by your favourite Rebels.

Given that Lisa Raitt had to delete and apologize for a mild-mannered tweet about climate change, the question arises: just what exactly do the Andrew Scheer Conservatives stand for? Ezra Levant will try to solve this riddle.

Hey, are you up for a career change? Do you want to earn $200,000 for only 240 days of work? Well, then, check this out: Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland is hiring a special advisor on to help out on that pesky Venezuela file.

Just one hitch, though: you must confirm to the Trudeau Liberals that you cherish the odious political system that is communism. Sheila Gunn Reid has all the inexplicable details.

And finally: letters; we get your letters; we get your letters every minute of every day. I’ll share some of your responses regarding my coverage of a group of eco-fanatics that decided to shut down a major Toronto intersection during rush hour recently to bring attention to the so-called “climate crisis.”

And what did they achieve? Well, they pissed off a lot of people who were completely inconvenienced.

And these SJWs also actually increased the carbon footprint in the immediate area thanks to causing hundreds of cars to idle in gridlock. Winning!

Those are your Rebels, now let’s round ‘em up...

Oh well. So much for that link.
Breakfast Television City News did some good coverage of Bernier. Local reports are becoming more frequent.

2 types of future @MaximeBernier supporter:

Type A – wants to support the PPC but believes Maxime has no chance.

Type B – Never heard of the PPC or does not know PPC policy.

Convince enough type B and the type A will follow.
There is time to gain a foothold. There may even be time to do more than that, but people are fixed in their ways and many loyal CPC voters will vote the same way they have always voted, even though they know its a bust. Some seem to hold out hope that Scheer will make our dreams come true once he is in, he just can’t be truthful now, so as not to offend any ‘walk away’s’ from the left. Some think they will be less oppressed with a CPC government than a Liberal government. I wonder if any conservative thinks he’ll have our backs?
We’ll see how that all works out for us. No matter what happens, its a dogs breakfast.

You certainly are a hoot and a half some days Duh Wick but not today. Too bad you are anything but unique or original, you are so terribly predictable. Yawn, wake me up when you have something intelligent to offer on the thread.
commented 2019-06-16 01:06:47 -0400
Ya Johnny peoplekind just keep avoiding answering questions like your boss Trudeau. LOL what a pair of goofs…
commented 2019-06-16 01:04:41 -0400

There is nothing flattering about you, so no – it was meant to be condescending. Go Bernier!
commented 2019-06-16 00:59:35 -0400
Hey seems “Wick” pilfered that moniker from someone else, not the first time either LOL.
commented 2019-06-16 00:58:17 -0400
By the way Johnny peoplekind(Wick).. why don’t you use your real name on this site?
commented 2019-06-16 00:56:39 -0400
LMAO @Wick

Man you truly aren’t original in any shape of form Wickie old boy. I post specific phrases and/or words on other threads then you start using them. You’ve never used “Sweetie” til today, just too funny!! Don’t know if I should feel flattered or disgusted LOL.
commented 2019-06-16 00:35:20 -0400
Whoa.. Johnny peoplekind just accused Breitbart being fear mongers’ Please elaborate Johnny peoplekind..
commented 2019-06-16 00:31:10 -0400
You want me to go on Johnny peoplekind? .. I’m not the tin foil hat goof… you are!! All evidence and facts prove it.
commented 2019-06-16 00:27:52 -0400
Robert Greeley,

Yes – fear mongering is Breitbarts bread and butter.
commented 2019-06-16 00:26:59 -0400

Try again sweetie – I have said that I would even consider voting for Scheer, because he has proven that he really is just liberal lite for the most part. In other words, I win either way.

When Bernier is decimated in the election, I will remind you of this discussion. It is just so hilarious that The Rebel is the only place on the Internet that thinks Bernier has a shot.
commented 2019-06-16 00:19:17 -0400
As said before and it is proving it yet again …“Whenever the resident leftard troll is frightened it starts to slam. First it thought Scheer would win so the troll slammed him, now it keeps slamming Bernier instead. Looks like the troll is starting to wet his pants. Wait for it though, his full meltdown won’t occur for awhile, the election is still too far away.”
commented 2019-06-16 00:05:57 -0400
Robert Greeley,

Sorry, but I don’t live in your fear mongering, paranoia and tinfoil hat conspiracy theory world.

Bernier has no chance, so the best you can hope for is Scheer.

Andrew Stevenson said, Six months ago .. he was polling at 3%. He’s been in most polls since about October. No traction, nothing like the Greens anyway (who managed to win in a by-election, unlike Max).
Andrew, the Party didn’t start until Sept. 14, 2018, and Max had no people in any riding; how could he have been 3% in the polls in Oct., if he had no people running?

The PPC has formed electoral district associations (EDAs) in all of Canada’s 338 ridings and plan to run a full slate of candidates in the 2019 Canadian federal election, nominated between" May 7 to 13, 2019."

Officially the PPC starting playing in Canadian Politics May 13, 2019, as that was the time that they had EDA’s in the 338 ridings. Polls before that were only going by Bernier’s name or the hope of him successfully forming the party.
The PPC received 10% in the Nanaimo by-election, while only 2% in the Ont. by-election.
commented 2019-06-15 23:28:24 -0400
It’s now how you start.. It’s how you finish..

Johnny peoplekind.. If you truly were a half decent human being.. You would realize.. that Canada needs the PPC/Bernier Party to get into the PMO and steer Canada into a Sovereign Country again.. Anything less.. there will be hell to pay.
commented 2019-06-15 23:00:38 -0400
liza Rosie,

Nothing will happen that will make Bernier PM. Trudeau may lose, but it will be because liberal lite Scheer is now PM.
commented 2019-06-15 22:58:24 -0400
ron joseph,

He won’t get 10% – I was just speaking hypothetically. Bernier’s support hasn’t moved in months. The Green Party is doing better.
commented 2019-06-15 22:58:10 -0400
A lot could happen between now and October.
commented 2019-06-15 22:56:58 -0400
Andrew Stephenson,

Thanks for the info on the Rebel contributors.

I don’t come here remotely as often as I used to, but Ezra and people here say how successful The Rebel is – despite traffic numbers that greatly say otherwise, so I just was wondering why then is The Rebel always losing contributors instead of adding more and more contributors to a long list.
commented 2019-06-15 22:53:49 -0400
Liza Rosie…..There is a growing silent majority.
I forgot about the Silent Majority; Good point Liza.

Bernier voters are much like Trump voters, If they say they are voting for Trump, they will get ridiculed. The same as PPC voters, look how John Wick is sneering at people that may vote PPC.

John Wick commented 1 hour ago
He needs far far more than 3% or 10%, etc. To win. You think in the next few months, things are just going to skyrocket for him?
John Wick, if PPC got 10% of seats, they may hold THE BALANCE OF POWER.

Look at the Greens in BC, they have 3.44% of the seats and they run the Government.
commented 2019-06-15 22:36:16 -0400
On a related note, I just saw Levant complaining about McKenna being political on a Tides-foundation funded site, and noticed while I was checking out the turnover, that he’s now got two Shillman Fellows. Ironic that they’d complain about others using third party money for political purposes.

LOL. Bernier can’t win. He has like 3% support, but please vote for him
6 months ago Max had 0% support.

Six months ago .. he was polling at 3%. He’s been in most polls since about October. No traction, nothing like the Greens anyway (who managed to win in a by-election, unlike Max).

“Did they quit or is The Rebel not making enough money to keep them/no one was watching their content?”

If you look at their individual contributor pages a whole lot of them contributed their last column in the third week of April. Retrenching in Canada, I guess.

I have no problem with people voting for who they think is best.

People in America voted for Gary Johnson, because they hated both Hillary and Trump, but they didn’t actually think Johnson can win like many people here who think Bernier is going to be the next PM.
