Trump throws support behind democracy protesters in Hong Kong — and the Rebel has sent a reporter there

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

I’ve been watching the Hong Kong protests out of the corner of my eye for months. We talked with our dear friend, Gordon Chang about it last week — Gordon made an interesting historical point, that revolutionary change in China often comes from the outside in.

Even as two million Hong Kongese took to the streets this past week, the world was largely silent.

Hong Kongese are actually flying American flags and singing the American anthem — because that’s their symbol of freedom. And they want America’s attention, which it hadn’t had.

Then President Donald Trump threw a few rhetorical bombshells into the mix, via Twitter:

I know President Xi of China very well. He is a great leader who very much has the respect of his people. He is also a good man in a “tough business.” I have ZERO doubt that if President Xi wants to quickly and humanely solve the Hong Kong problem, he can do it. Personal meeting?

Flattery and praise — but saying, pretty clearly, don’t touch these protesters violently.

And then he followed up a day later:

If President Xi would meet directly and personally with the protesters, there would be a happy and enlightened ending to the Hong Kong problem. I have no doubt!

Trump’s suggestion was impossible, but it put Xi on the spot.

What a showdown.

I’m curious. I’m hopeful. I want the news. And obviously, I don’t trust the state broadcaster — either China’s, or Canada's.

So we’re going to send our own reporter to China — in fact, he just landed there!

Our friend Avi Yemini, the Australian who I’ve gotten to know over the past year. You probably know him from Tommy Robinson's site I’ve seen his journalism, both in the UK and Australia and he’s really good. He has courage; he’s not afraid of a bit of tear gas; he’s got a great sense of humour; and he cares about freedom.

For the next four days, he’s going to be filing guest reports for The Rebel about these protests.

We’ve set up a special website, And we should have videos on it as soon as tomorrow night.

We’ve sent Avi and a cameraman — so that’s two flights, a hotel, taxi fare and meals. Total cost will be around $4,000 by the time we’re done — if you can help us chip in, please do, at Hong Kong

We want the world to see the truth.

NEXT: Manny Montenegrino joins me to talk about Justin Trudeau's second violation of ethics laws.

FINALLY: Your messages to me!

Robert I think Justin is going down………….

Have to agree on that Liza, but on whom? lol.

Robert I think Justin is going down, nobody loves him anymore. Good article.

Ron, no unfortunately the addition of another MP wouldn’t get Max in the debates for the reason you stated. But it does help to show the debates commissioner of Bernier’s popularity and relevancy, as well as poke CPC loyalists to wake up and smell the coffee.

Has anyone seen this yet? It was from this morning at the PPC candidates convention.
*World Premiere* Trudeau serenades Canadians at PPC convention.
commented 2019-08-18 10:06:12 -0400
My turn at making a mistake. Even if the PPC gets a standing MP to cross the floor, the PPC are still not eligible for the debates.
Trudeau’s rules say the MP must be elected as a PPC, not someone changing parties.
Seeing that there was no PPC in the last election, this is an impossible rule to comply with, unless the new Party wins a bi-election. This despite the PPC receiving 10.6 % of the vote in the Burnaby bi-election, where as two of the Parties that are invited to the debates did not even run a candidate. (Greens and Block de Quebec Quai)

The Dictator has thought of everything.

Liza Rosie——The anticipated news that you just shared has made my day. That new MP would make the PPC eligible for the debates.
I hear that 3rd World Immigration is still Number 1 issue in Quebec. (probably most other Provinces also) The 5 debate Parties likely won’t talk about this Issue.
This will open many doors for Max, whether or not he is in the debates.

Thanks for the news, I will be watching tomorrow.

“Right now the Liberals have reached the 3 reading for bill C-13 (Internet Censoring) and we say, “what can we do ?” Thanks Scheer!
Yes Ron, Scheer’s idea of protecting free speech is nothing but censorship. He is a coward.
A little birdie has told me that yet another CPC MP is leaving Scheer and the Conservative party to join Max and the Peoples Party of Canada. They will be a speaker tomorrow on day two of the PPC convention being held in Gatineau. We won’t know who it is until then. Mark Friesen candidate for Saskatoon will be streaming it and putting it on his twitter feed, as will many others I am sure. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out who the new walk away might be.
Westerners aren’t going to put up with a Trudeau dictatorship. One way or the other we will be done with that jackass ( and his cousin cowardass).

“Perp Minister”
Robert, me lad, that is a classic. Perhaps full title: Perp Minister McGroperson.

That Tyler, is the one million dollar question. How do we stop his election meddling…?
In the days not so long ago the RCMP would take care of it. But now, alas, they are simply an organ the Liberal party. The Groper’s personal security force a la the Gestapo.

Disband the RCMP.

Liza Rosie—-Canadians may not be violent but no one who loves this country is going to live under this mans dictatorship. It will be no small number of Canadians.
Liza, Many times I feel guilty that myself and 65% of Canadians that do not vote for Trudeau, aren’t more involved in what is happening. I am envious of the French and Hong Kong being a little violent while fighting for their rights, while it seems like we do almost nothing.
On the other hand , we do have a legitimate excuse being that the Leader of the Opposition and his 100 MP’s are paid to defend our Democratic Rights. Instead, from where we stand, they seem to go along with the Dictator.

We also have to consider the size of our Country compared to France and HK. If 38 million of us lived in Ontario, we could easily get a million to meet in Toronto and stage a protest. The MSM would have no choice in covering it, or they may face an extreme
new education process, with that many people on their doorstep.

Right now the Liberals have reached the 3 reading for bill C-13 (Internet Censoring) and we say, “what can we do ?” Thanks Scheer!

Meanwhile the expert based Trudeau/Goodale/Blair gun ban has suffered some embarrassing defections to the side of the good guys.
Maybe they noticed all those instances down in the states where lawful firearms owners came to the aid of police.
commented 2019-08-17 15:45:54 -0400
Too true Ronald, and what the heck are we going to be able to do? Isn’t there something Scheer could be doing to block such obvious fixing?

Don’t you love how the liberals make what was previously against the law, within the law, with a mere waving of their wand? What is wrong with the way we do politics if this can happen?

Its a very concerning article Ron, and a very outrageous bill (76).
That article was last fall. Has no progress been made in stopping this travesty? One would think in a western democracy that allowing non citizens the vote wouldn’t be on the list of things to worry about.
If Trudeau gets in, the federation is finished. Canadians may not be violent but no one who loves this country is going to live under this mans dictatorship. It will be no small number of Canadians.
commented 2019-08-17 15:25:30 -0400
Elizabeth Rosie—-Re your concern that Liberals will change the rules for refugees can vote; They have already tried, Liberal’s Bill 76.

Harper made the voting rules tougher and the Liberals cancelled his new rules.
This is the pertinent information bill-76 if you can’t read the entire story.

Being able to vote with a simple Elections Canada card could allow countless non-citizens – including asylum seekers, illegal border crossers and those whose refugee applications have been rejected – to vote in the next election.

From ctv news link that Robert Mcclelland posted,
“Starting today, I am launching a grassroots campaign to encourage Canadians to urge these six Liberal members of Parliament to put their country before their party and to vote to let the ethics committee do its work,” Scheer told reporters in Moncton, N.B., on Friday.
That’s it? ‘Starting today’ he is going to ask Canadians to complain about Justin? But, Mr. Scheer what are you going to do? Is there nothing YOU can do, or are your hands tied as well? Are they tied because of our too loosely written Parliamentary procedures or is it something else as well? It’s not right that politicians can get away with this abuse and flagrant disrespect. We need to start doing politics differently. Now.
Canada, is saying that everyone does it an acceptable excuse? Are we really going to accept that?
commented 2019-08-17 13:48:51 -0400
It sounds like our Parliamentary system is the problem. Scummy politicians will always look for ways to scam us. The system should be built to protect us from crooks like Trudeau. His lack of respect for Canadians and the rule of law is obscene. It is amazing that there is that much room to manipulate the system. All the more reason to start doing politics differently and break out of the federal two party mold. Something has got to change here.

What’s to stop the government from fixing the vote? Trudeau has corrupted every other arm why not elections Canada?
That Tyler, is the one million dollar question. How do we stop his election meddling. he already has google and the msm doing his bidding, as well as indications that elections Canada isn’t as non partisan as they are supposed to be. Add to that the self admitted partisan pollsters. If the result of this election is actually a reflection of the desire of Canadians, it will be a miracle.

Keith Barnes—-We agree with too much to continue discussing Hong Kong’s desire to have the UK rule them. I believe that we both think Boris is the best Person available to fix the UK.

My only point is Britain left HK 22 years ago and most of the protesters weren’t born yet or they were being held in their mothers arms, so they wouldn’t miss Britain unless they read their History Books.

How can Canadians be expected to make an informed decision on election day when the Perp Minister is wilfully withholding evidence? Smilin’ Andy was right, it is time for our high flying PM get off his surf board and come clean on the SNC scandal.

It seems the RCMP Commissioner is the Canadian version of the disgraced former head of the FBI James Comey. Maybe to she will investigate Smilin’ Andy for Russian collusion next.

Always a learning experience when Manny Montenegrino provides his input. Appreciate both Ezra and Manny’s quest for truth and for providing Canadians with honest reporting.
If the RCMP fail to investigate and charge Trudeau with obstruction of justice they send Canadians a definite signal that they too are part of the Libranos corruption. Allowing Trudeau and his complicit Liberal minions to commit illegal acts while in official parliamentary power without any legal intervention would be a death knell for Canada’s rule of law. Without rule of law Canada becomes a dictatorship which is what Trudeau really wants. If Trudeau gets away with this he will continue to set his sights higher and commit more egregious acts.

Keith Barnes—I agree with you……………

Ron, everything you say is correct except that Theresa May has not been the PM for a month or more now, she belonged to the same gang as Trudeau and was just as bad as he is, NWO Marxism is the name of the game, UK and CA.
British Politics are completely screwed up and if the Country dose not get out of the EU soon then the UK will cease to exist.
All what I have said, above, is true but do you really think that the average Jo on the streets of Hong Kong and Kowloon know or care about British Politics. They just remember the times when Britannia Ruled the Waves. and HK was powerful under British rule.
Ezra has been to London a couple of times but I am sure he would be the first to admit that he is not expert on the Country.
I am a proud Canadian Citizen and have been since 1968 but I was born in London UK and served as a regular in the Brit Army, Five years in Hong Kong.
