NEWS: Muslim, students protest screening of 'unsafe' American Sniper. You won't believe the comments made about the film and Chris Kyle

Farah El-Jayyousi, the former president of the Muslim Student Organization at the University of Missouri, is demanding an apology for having American Sniper screened on her campus.

The College Fix reports that El-Jayyousi, a psychology and women’s and gender studies double-major and social justice advocate, took issue with the film earlier this month in a letter to the editor at The Maneater.

“Since the release of “American Sniper,” many white Americans have taken to social media to discuss how viewing this film has affected them. The results are truly appalling... They have sympathized more easily with a killer with no regard for human life than they have with the staggering numbers of people whose lives were taken by the hero of this film,” she wrote referencing former US Sniper Chris Kyle.

“This film is blatant racist, colonialist propaganda that should not be shown under any circumstances and especially not endorsed by a branch of student government that purports to represent me and have my best interests in mind,” she wrote.

She tried defending her position, seemingly knowing that arguments over freedom of speech were inevitable.

“Lastly, I would like to clarify that this is not an attempt at censorship but an affirmation of my right to feel safe in my body and identity wherever I may be, including this campus. Freedom of speech should not come at the expense of anyone's humanity and right to be viewed, talked about and treated with basic respect and dignity.”

“I am asking that this film not be shown and that an official, public apology and explanation be issued by all parties involved in approving the screening of American Sniper on Mizzou's campus,” she concluded.

El-Jayyousi's letter was enough for other students to ask the Missouri Students Association to cancel the film.

However,  after meeting with members of the Muslim community, the Missouri Students Association decided the film will be screened as originally planned, but promised an event to help 'cultivate an inclusive campus climate'.

Was anyone “forcing” her to watch this movie? Was a gun held to her head? As someone already stated: She has the freedom in America to make the choice for herself! Perhaps if she does not feel safe in her body and identity, she should go “undercover”, perhaps in a niqab!

Funny how the islammaniacs are in the news so much these days. The left would have you believe the conservatives are fearmongering the population. If you do not agree with the Liberals you are labeled an everythingaphobe and bigot. Miss Jayyousi could have easily not watched the movie and let everyone else decide for themselves. That’s freedom. Being able to choose for yourself, think for yourself, and also to stfu.

When did Obama sneak "right to be viewed, talked about and treated with basic respect and dignity” into the US constitution? I can’t believe Mizzou’s SU had the guts to continue screening the movie (although with sops to the squeaky wheel).

When the Liberals are in power, the academics in the Liberal Party will guarantee career managed futures in the bureaucracy for women with those credentials. Once there the few white males that are left will be treated like white male rats in a social engineering experiment.

When the Tories are in power the only future those credentials would give you is one of breaking balls at a pool hall like a greeter at Walmart.

I have not seen the film and wasn’t going to, but I think I must so I can respond in kind to this woman. But did anyone catch the funny aspect of this woman credentials! She is a psychology and women’s and gender studies major and social justice advocate. Yet she writes for the paper called Maneater! Lmao!!!!!! She is also a feminist that hates men I suspect!

That better NOT apologize, because that would be an assault on every true American.
We did not start this war thay did, why should we care about the other side. If they don’t like the killing then stop attacking.

I can only admire a communist with a new vocabulary learned from socialists in our universities. Peace be upon her and may she not stay on EI and welfare too long whilst looking for a job to support her husband.

Well, she lost.

Why is her right to NOT be offended paramount?
Why did she watch it in the first place?
She reminds me of the woman who called the Police to complain about a man she could see from her window walking around naked in his apartment. When the police arrived at her place she took them to the dining room window and pointed at the neighbour’s. The Policeman said, “But madam, I can only see his head and shoulders.” “Well,” she replied. “Here stand on this table and you’ll see.”

Dear Ms.. El Jayyousi, maybe the reason you take issue with American soldiers killing America’s enemies is because you are one of them.

I would agree to non-screening if the Islamist first remove the words “infidel and jihad” from their Koran; otherwise, screen the film everywhere. I thought Clint did an excellent work as a director.

Perhaps the reason most of them sympathize with Chris Kyle and not the people he “murdered” is becasue they are Islamist Terrorist scum bags who were trying to murder his fellow soldiers. He did not shoot a single innocent person according to his book, interview or the movie. Every single person he shot either had killed or was about to kill someone else!
Farah El-Jayyousi should be arrested for attempting to recruit for the purpose of committing an act of treason!

This muslim idiot with her degrees has to learn to shut her overly loud anti-democratic mouth. Don’t you just love how when given some education these people want everybody to bow down and praise them for just being who they are, the most superior group of people in the entire world? Why aren’t people shutting this brain dead Islamic sharia law infested buffoon down with her treasonous rants who shows no mercy at all for the hundreds of thousands of non muslims slaughtered by her Islamic people. Apologize to her or any of them? Don’t make me barf. She represents muslims who abhor American/Canadian war vets from any war including ww1 and ww2. She should be sent to the middle east where she can gleefully join and fight alongside isis.

I believe the letter of apology should go something like this:

Dear Ms. Farah El-Jayyousi,

The Missouri Students Association

Those damn Colonialists. How dare they build a society that allows her to get a double major in womens studies! The nerve!

“Freedom of speech should not come at the expense of anyone’s humanity and right to be viewed, talked about and treated with basic respect and dignity.”

That’s the problem isn’t it? The Islamist doesn’t really get the concept of free speech. A lot of movies, books, works or art, history books, news media, internet postings – you name -t – “talk about” disturbing acts because humans often don’t behave in a respectful or dignified manner and some circumstances require that they don’t. If this woman had her way, anything that offends Islamtists’ sensibilities would be censored, even though she claims she is not advocating censorship. It seems that anything that she doesn’t like makes her feel unsafe in her “body and identity”. It’s ironic though, that as a Muslim woman, her religion and cultural practices should make her feel oppressed and unsafe in her body and identity.

The left always will have room for one more social justice advocate.
