On May 6, Jason Dubrule completed his 430 km walk to Edmonton. Jason walked from his small town of Falher, Alberta to the provincial legislature to bring awareness to the impending homelessness many Alberta families are facing during this prolonged economic downturn.
Jason was greeted at the Legislature grounds by friends, family, and supporters, including Wildrose MLA for Grande Prairie-Smoky, Todd Loewen. Loewen had walked with Dubrule for several kilometres on two separate occasions and was there to cheer him on as he finished his walk.
Those who were there on the steps of the Legislature were overshadowed by those who weren't.
Not a single NDP MLA or representative made the time to greet Dubrule after he walked that far to meet them.
We know where the NDP were the very night before Jason walked into town:
They made time to celebrate themselves during the province’s worst wildfire emergency, but couldn't spare a moment to meet Jason after he walked 430 kms. Priorities.
