Notley fails to renew contract of Alberta's most effective envoy to U.S.

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

Do you know who Rob Merrifield is? Well many people don’t but he has been working hard for us in Alberta for the past half year.

Rob Merrifield was appointed by Jim Prentice to be Alberta’s highest envoy to the United States. Merrifield’s appointment was one of the rare things that Prentice did that was a great idea.

Merrifield is an experienced legislator. He had been chair of the standing committee on International trade during his time in Stephen Harper's government. Better yet, he is a farmer from Mayerthorpe. He is starkly different from so many of Notley’s important appointments. Her appointments all tend to be urban activists imported here from out of province.

But here’s the problem: Rob Merrifield was good at his job. In fact, probably too good. He got within 4 votes of having veto proof support in the United States Senate for Keystone XL. Notely just can’t have that. She opposes Keystone XL along with her federal friend, Thomas Mulcair. And now, Merrifield’s contract hasn’t been renewed. That’s too convenient.

I was just thinking that if Rob Merrifield had joined a union he might still have his job or another job replacement ?
I’m only sharing this for the benefit of the Rebel Media Staff to consider … Is Ezra treating and paying you guys well?

RON VOSS said “He sounds like a competent individual”

Sounding competent is nice, warm and fussy for the average conservative but actually being competent is what I’m sure our Premier Rachel Notley was looking for to make sure Albertans get the BEST PEOPLE WORKING FOR THEM THEY DESERVE!

That’s “I’m NOT Charlie Hebdo Mr WHITE” I was INDEED a better choice for the REBEL JOB than Ms. Reid but was not considered for the job because I voted NDP and support Rachel Notley and her NDP Government – Ezra wanted more sad sack conservatives on his pay roll and he certainly got one with Ms. Reid – At least I would have formed a UNION for better PAY and BENEFITS for all the Rebel cast…

Of course she rid him. She is getting rid of anything that is good for Alberta. What an incompetent, pathetic hack. If there is any hope for the province, well with that hack there is no hope….see ya in Sask.

The issue is not crying about the fact he lost his job. He sounds like a competent individual who will find employment elsewhere. The issue is about an effective hardworking Albertan working in the best interests of Alberta being fired for ideological reasons by a left -wing ideologue like Notley, who will probably find one of her NDP friends in Ontario as a replacement.

His effectiveness and his pro stance on oil were his down fall.

That and the fact he did not live in Toronto

Poor Richard Brinkman, lost a job in 2013 and still does not have one? The Alberta economy only started its downslide 9 months ago, accelerated 3 months ago.

Also still envious of Ms. Reid getting the job he was overtly campaigning for, I see. But he is not Charlie.

I lost my job due to layoffs in 2013 – sorry to break it to you Rebels but It happens to Canadians all the time and they learn to get on with life and move on. I think GUNN might try to remain rectangular and show a little backbone for the benefit of other Conservatives watching this youtube … Acting like a sad sack by pouting over the termination Rob Merrifield is not acting very conservative as KEITH BARNES points out..

People lose thier jobs all the time – pouting and acting like sour grapes is not going to help Rob or his family Rob Merrifield might consider getting counseling …

VLAD JOHNSON, you made exactly the same comment about Doug or Richard Brinkman with respect to Phelim McAleer’s short film “GasHoax”. I posted there, “Prince Knight, I agree with your sentiments that Vlad unfortunately lowers himself to the trolls level by resorting to foul language and ad hominem attacks. Vlad you can do better. Vlad, also note that while you call for ignoring the trolls, you are doing otherwise. Be consistent.” Most of us here pretty well know where this troll stands ideologically, so foul language reminders by you are not necessary.

Did you ever occur to you, Shella is just pointing out, to left wing sad sacks like yourself, the idiocy of Socialism. A system of government, that has never worked, anywhere in the world and it never will.
Hit Youtube and type in THE MULCAIR DECEPTION. or THE TRUDEAU DECEPTION. These are your idols. Enjoy.

dawg brinkman is just another communist pig and compulsive liar with his own “pre-written” narrative handed to him by some other source/political party.

Ignore this stupid communist fuck dawg brinkman – he’s just an annoying turd and doesn’t deserve any further attention.

Yep – NDPig Notley needs to put a college student into this role – that would seal the deal for Alberta’s relationship with the US.

This is getting fucking surreal. Notley needs a punch in the face and soon. This bitch is out of control.

Failed Conservative Jim Prentice hires Rob Merrifield – Newly Elected Rachel Notley NDP Government terminates Rob Merrifield… Sorry SHEILA GUNN REID but I don’t understand why you are losing sleep over this…

To me this makes perfect sense replacing Rob with a diplomat that is going to fit well with the NDP government – Thank you Rob Merrifield for your public service, good-bye now!

Another non-news story by Sheila…
But, I am looking forward to your Grande Prairie report from the upcoming weekend rally against….
I’ll be reporting on Edmonton Sisters In Spirit Rally – Stolen Sisters & Brothers Awareness Walk…

Speaking of living in Ms. Notley’s old-man’s riding…where the heck are you hiding Marg? When my W/R candidate I was working for was defeated by you, I said you would be a good MLA, and you are a cabinet minister to boot. Where the heck are you???? The respect I had is almost evaporated.

If you watch Ms. Notley taking criticism and responding to it, she is very reminiscent of Ms Redford and Ms Wynne. Sadly, I think we have another Queen-Bee syndrome happening. Mme Marois was the same. What is it about regressive left women leaders and their thin skin. Ms. Clarke came to the defense of the hard rock station host who was fired for his MILF question from a listener.

The sad thing for us in Alberta is while the P/C’s fired Ms. Redford, the NDP have nothing in the wings to replace Ms. Notley, except Mr. Mason…please God…please! Mr. Mason is at least Albertan. For the trolls, no Ms. Notley is not an Albertan except for convenience and I live in her old-man’s riding.

Can someone please help me understand the ndp idiology, that this type of governance in any way is a help to its citizens. Anyone from the left feel free to chime in cause I can’t wrap my head around this!!!!!
