It’s no secret that Rachel Notley is waging all out war on entrepreneurs in Alberta.
It started with a 20% corporate tax hike in the weeks after the NDP took office in 2015. Next, Notley went after rural business people with Bill 6. Then, in the middle of an economic downturn, the NDP brought in the carbon tax and hiked the minimum wage.
But Notley wasn’t done yet.
Did you know Alberta restaurants and retailers just got handed their own version of Bill 6?
Starting January 1, the NDP are implementing broad sweeping changes to labour legislation - imposing union style rules on Alberta businesses that operate with the slimmest of margins.
Joining me tonight is a familiar face and friend of the show, Robbie Picard.
You may know him from his oilsands activism, but he also owns a bar in Fort Mac and, just like thousands of other small business owners, he’s been dealing with all the onerous hurdles to success the NDP have put in his way.
Robbie and I will discuss some of the challenges facing his small business, and everything else under the sun - from gay rights to the CBC to Justin Trudeau!
