The Alberta Government is looking to affirmative action hiring policies to bring gender and racial equality to the Alberta workforce.
Education Minister David Eggen says that since the Alberta Government is the largest employer in the province (a mortifying concept, I know…) he will be undertaking a review of public sector hiring practices, confirming that affirmative action would be one “theme” of his recommendations.
Eggen’s mission to bring more women into the workforce doesn’t jive with Alberta reality, and he should really know better.
According the Alberta government’s own statistics and breakdown of unemployment by gender, men are the hardest hit by the NDP made recession.
And that fact holds true across all demographics.
It's almost like bad economic policies hurt breadwinning men more but the NDP are busy solving a problem for women that doesn't exist. Huh...
