Notley NDP “save the day” with “FREE” LED bulbs for struggling Albertans

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

Are you a normal Albertan with normal Alberta problems? Do you worry about your job security, paying the bills, and taxes?

Worry no more, my fellow Albertans. The NDP have the solution to all your real life concerns, those things that keep you up at night and cause you marital strife: free low flow shower heads and LED light bulbs.

Environment Minister Shannon Phillips just announced the first program of their new energy efficiency initiative, costing $648 million dollars over next five years.

The program will offer free or low cost low flow shower heads and LED light bulbs and rebates for energy efficient appliances.

This is what the NDP are going to do with the thousands of dollars they are robbing from your pockets with the carbon tax.

Welcome to the NDP’s version of diversification and reinvesting in Alberta: sudsy hair because you don’t have enough water pressure.

It’s not just that the NDP are killing Alberta jobs with the carbon tax so they can give away free light bulbs, it's that they want us to be grateful when they do it.

It has been my experience that these led and cfl bulbs with a rated life of 10 years actually last between 1 and 2 years.
When a regular incandescent light bulb burns out, the filament simply evaporates.
As for the cfl and led bulbs, they usually burn out and emit a nice burnt chemical odour.
Makes one wonder how healthy these bulbs really are!

A normal incadescent light bulb , cheap to buy will provide the heating equivalent to the wattage of the bulb. This is heat that doesn’t have to be provided by some other method. So are you saving energy if you use one of these low wattage alternatives? Likely not especially if you consider the life cycle of one of these bulbs, from manufacture to disposal. What they do however is provide a higher base cost so the provincial tax on the purchase of these high priced bulbs is higher. More taxes.

Just idiots. Welcome to the “Progressive” socialist world. It’s going to take a minimum of 20 years to reverse this. My kids and grandkids are best to leave.

Rachel if you are so wise then why do you smoke?

Hyacinth your point shows how stupid the green kooks are, they only look at one facet of the technology.

Why are socialists and warmed over commies so ignorant? Do they really think they are fooling anyone? Well except for other socialist halfwits.

“The program will offer free or low cost low flow shower heads and LED light bulbs and rebates for energy efficient appliances.”

Hmmm, energy saving LED light bulbs … good? Hardly. But then again all these alleged “green” initiatives are toxic to both your health and pocketbook.

“A study published in late 2010 in the journal Environmental Science and Technology found that LEDs contain lead, arsenic and a dozen other potentially dangerous substances. …. What did they find? Some of the worst offenders were low-intensity red LEDs, which were found to contain up to eight times the amount of lead, a known neurotoxin, allowed by California state law and which, according to researchers, “exhibit significant cancer and noncancer potentials due to the high content of arsenic and lead.” Meanwhile, white LEDs contain the least lead, but still harbor large amounts of nickel, another heavy metal that causes allergic reactions in as many as one in five of us upon exposure. And the copper found in some LEDs can pose an environmental threat if it accumulates in rivers and lakes where it can poison aquatic life.”

“The study found that the production, use and disposal of LEDs all present health risks, which the public should be made aware of. It suggests that a special broom, gloves and mask should be used when cleaning up broken bulbs, and that crews attending to car accidents or broken traffic lights should be required to wear protective gear, and treat the material as hazardous waste.”

David, you’ve just insulted all the 80 yr old women out there. Rachel & her gang of destroyers are doing a bang up job with their agenda. I’m sure that all those unemployed Albertans are feeling all warm & fuzzy now knowing that the bulbs they have now & can’t afford to light up will be replaced with a more efficient version. Way to go Rachel, what other insane ideas are you dreaming up for the next time?

I would have gladly reached into my own pocket and buy my own LED lightbulbs and low pressure shower heads rather than pay a carbon tax that I don’t think I can afford.
Wow… The freaks are running the asylum.

Just when you thought you could keep warm huddled around a light bulb cause you couldn’t afford natural gas, she changes it to a l.e.d.

The devious bitch!

The irony is, they could afford to give out such free bees much easier if they didn’t kill the economy and the taxes they’re no longer getting, and the results would’ve been the same, because if you want ppl to reduce, they need real practical solutions, not fairy dust. They could’ve even given away programmable thermostats too, for even greater effect, and not caused a single job loss.

My home if full of energy efficient appliances and LED bulbs and the wifey hates those energy efficient showerheads…….. but send those LED bulbs anyway….. I will donate them to Christy Clark so she can replace all those old incandescent bulbs on the Victoria Legislature building……

Rachael Notley and Shannon Phillips can stick their LED’s where the sun don’t shine

Did Rachael just turn 80. I think fossil Jane Fonda looked better on her latest in and out. I think the corruption in the commy ranks is taking its toll. She feels pressure as public scrutiny mounts and looks terrible. A real hag. Rachael, you better go for a smoke.

Sadly DEB G., you may be right.

Low Flow Shower Heads, from a Low Life Communist.

Alberta, Your future looks doubtful and not very clean. So she wants to play dirty, well that can work both ways, can’t it?
commented 2017-01-19 18:45:49 -0500
Light bulbs in cartoons represent intelligence, so the free Non-Democratic Party light bulbs they are giving away will not turn on just like their intelligence light bulbs don’t. The low flow shower heads represent the low flow of intelligence from the Non-Democratic Party. So both tax payer funded ‘freebies’ perfectly symbolize the Non-Democratic Party.
commented 2017-01-19 18:44:34 -0500
Well we can all rest easy now. The NDP have everything under control.

The NDP truly are idiots.

Please, God, save us from the three stooges, Nutley, Wynnie, and Truedope.
