Artwork on the mask of U.S. Women’s hockey team goalie Maddie Rooney has captured the attention of International Olympics Committee officials.
They claim the stylized Statue of Liberty image makes for a political statement which runs contrary to rules governing symbols that can and cannot be used at the games.
It seemed as though Rooney was going to have to cover Lady Liberty up, burqa-style. After all, the IOC is as pure as the driven snow, right?
Actually, it’s one of the most corrupt organizations in the world. Entire books have been written about the IOC racket, which includes scams that hurt taxpayers directly.
And they’ll happily sell their own iconic symbol of five interlocked multi-coloured rings to anyone who coughs up a multimillion-dollar sponsorship fee!
But back to that controversial artwork, the IOC was eventually convinced to let Rooney wear her goalie mask as-is with the kerfuffle now being spun as a mere “misunderstanding.”
Lady Liberty is a political symbol, but she represents the polar opposite of that despotic regime to the North of South Korea.
It’s ironic that Lady Liberty is considered a liability while the sister of dictator Kim Jong Un is regaled by mainstream media types as the Winter Olympics’ belle of the ball.
Does the IOC award a Gold Medal for lunacy?
