On Energy East, “politics” trumps “science”: Trudeau always finds new ways to say “NO”

Brian LilleyArchive

For all the Liberal talk during the election about how important it is to consider “the science”, the fact is politics trumps science every time when it comes to the oil industry and their pet issue  of “climate change”.

After adding conditions and making changes to the National Energy Board approval process, Justin shows his real agenda for the oil industry in his contradictory answers and non-answers on the question of pipelines.

Even progressive Mayor Nenshi expresses frustration with Trudeau’s seeming lack of concern for the industry’s need for certainty.

Or, it could be that the Liberals will continue to try to find a way to say “No”, adjusting their answers or non-answers as required?

Trudeau is also listening to Gerald Butts (that parasite) He is Trudeau’s advisor. Gerald Butts wants Canadians to go back to burning wood in fire places! Butts should be sent back to US where he came from. JT’s father hated the oil industry too. His father told the gas companies in Alberta to get out of Alberta and go back to US and the oil companies did leave Alberta. Then Trudeau’s father gave the farmers the “finger” in the west. The farmers were told by Pierre Trudeau to sell their own grain. Their was high unemployment and a huge debt in Canada under Pierre Trudeau just like there will be high unemployment under his trust-fund son who knows “NOTHINGABOUTNOTHING”! I noticed the Liberals have their leader attending funerals all over Canada. That is all their leader knows “NOTHING”. JT getting nanny’s paid for by Government and he is roaming the country like a “NOMAD”. Promising nothing to unemployed canadians. JT spending tax payers money flying the government plane around the country knowing no pipelines will be built. WHAT A FRAUD LIBERAL GOVERNMENT! ! 😕

Trudouche for Liberals. Apply liberally with a fire hose at 400 PSI (2758 kPa) to clean out the cranial sludge festering between your Dumbonian ears.

So the Liberals introduce extra and more rigid standards for the NEB to follow and even if Oil & Gas meet and/or exceed these expectations Trudeau still refuses to commit his government’s support. What a travesty. This ‘party’ is so far out of touch with reality it appears the saying, “Looking through rose colored glasses” was coined specifically for them. What a sad state of affairs.

Doe anyone remember when Junior ran away from SNN reporters? On more than one occasion. It’s too bad that those images never made it on the propagandist MSM, because that is the current PM. We’ve got a runner here folks!

Transparency? More like opaqueness! The Emperor talks in circles and never gives an answer. The reporter should have pressed him for a simple answer of “Yes” or “No”! I would encourage and support a movement for Alberta to separate from Canada. If the Republicans form government after the election, it may be an idea for a strong movement to request that the USA annex the province.

I must agree clearly the end answer from our governments will be no, it seems pretty obvious . I find it a little sad to watch the leaders of the big oil companies trying to find some way of putting a positive spin on things knowing full well if they speak their mind it will be just another nail in the coffin for them. I am sure every major player in the oilfield is currently rushing to get their ducks in a row regrouping for a mass exit from anything Canadian . You will see they are much smarter than a government bent on destroying our current resources long before they have anything proven to take it`s place. As soon as they have projects elsewhere up and ready to start they will leave . I am not blaming them it just makes good business sense . Something we will never get from our governments currently in power… Long live Prime Minister Harper !!

These are the biggest jokes ever elected to public office.

When politicians speak-in-toungues, take it as a negative. Draw your conclusions early and start hurling the accusations!! Brian has drawn the right conclusion, I wish his accusations were stronger is all! Hurl those accusations Brian. . . . .

You have no intention of proceeding with ANY pipelines – do you? The NEB already has a thorough process that covers all those things, don’t you really mean you’re going to make it so arduous it’ll effectively block all future lines? Why are you and Ms Notley shutting down our oil when all other countries are going great guns??? How come you’re still talking like man is responsible for climate change? Like CO2 is bad or something?
(you get the idea)

Trudeau has no plan other than infrastructure for growing the economy. But what happens when all the infrastructure money is spent? Manufacturing is dying, resource extraction is blocked and the service industries will have no one to whom to sell their services. Sounds like recession and despair to me.
commented 2016-02-05 01:40:01 -0500
Trudeau is infuriating with his answers, no matter what is being asked. He should have responded with a resounding YES, because after all the NEB’s approval would have come after all of his liberal demands had been taken into consideration, so Trudeau has no intention of accepting the NEB decision if they approve Energy East & this is loud & clear. All he ever does is repeat platitudes in his same jerky manner. Did anyone else notice Notley’s little grin & the way she kept looking at Trudeau because she already knew the answer & laughing to herself at what fools we are to think, the pipeline will ever exist. They don’t seem to have any problem whatsoever wasting the NEB’s time on taxpayer money. What a disgrace the both of them, the loss of jobs & all the negatives & domino effects associated with that, means nothing to them.

Let’s cut the speculation and cut to the chase. Trudeau just spent 5 minutes saying no. 400 activist entourage to a climate change party says all we need to know. There isn’t a liberal or dipper alive who supports the oil and gas industry. It’s all lying lip service to drag out the inevitable. They have no choice but to appear to support it but have no intention of ever approving anything. Whatever the alternatives, the fact is Alberta and indeed Canada cannot afford to be governed by lefty politics period/full stop. Killing the golden goose will kill our country because all the sunny ways in the world won’t buy anything.

Even Notley smirked when Trudeau said “grow the economy”. We all know he thinks economies grow on trees. Money Trees.
commented 2016-02-04 21:57:25 -0500
They won’t be happy until they destroy our economy which is what is going to happen unless we start making use of our natural resources. The only consolation is by the time they finish ruining the economy with all their carbon taxes people will notice they have less money in their bank accounts and realize this socialist experiment is not working and vote them out of office.

Well said Roland Sequin. What do you think our chances of relying on the Americans to defend us in this situation if Canada decides to withdraw our F18’s out of the Middle East.. as their allies ? I would think that we would be on our own to defend ourselves in our dingeys and 303 rifles with our current gun laws to defend the East Coast and our land. WE NEED SOME GOOD LEADERSHIP WHICH WE ARE NOT GETTING FROM THE CURRENT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

$700,000,000 divided by 100,000 unemployed is $7000 each. Woo hoo. Thanks Justin. Gonna have a big shindig. You’re invited.

Sounds like Junior has been cuddling up to Putin to get on his good side. Hoping that he will attack Canada Last?
Kissing Putins boots won’t do a lick of good because the Cold War is back on again bigger and more dangerous than it ever was. Our genX youth won’t have a clue about the recent history of the last Cold War.
In spite of Junior’s admiration of marxism, and his disdain for anything American or Anglo-Saxon that he learned from daddy Pierre, we have no choice but to side with the USA in the defense of North America.
This would have been automatic with Harper without a second thought.

The Americans, due to Putin’s recent aggressive actions, are about to build a defence system on the periphery of Russia and this has got Putin steaming mad. Both sides are building up their military and nuclear arsenals to a scary degree. Putin with nuclear submarines and ICBM’s with multiple miniature warheads, from the high arctic to the Mediterranean.
Just thinking…Montreal refineries would do wise to get a second supply of oil, (diversify) with the Energy East pipeline, as one of Putin’s missiles on Portland Maine would end that pipeline source and they would be totally reliant on Canadian Oil supply via rail and ships. Rail and ships are easy targets for sabotage and/or Putin’s missiles.

With that answer, I suspect that Justins Saudi bank account became a little fatter.

Bill Jones…..“Pierre Trudeau was a violent fascist subversive”…. http://www.ecofascism.com/article32.html
William Kay does great biographic research and tells the real story of Junior’s daddy Pierre whom he learned his politics from.
- P.E.T. supported the Nazis during the second world war and rode his Harley around Montreal wearing Nazi like helmut, when thousands of Canadian young men were laying down their lives for Canada.
- He packed a gun and once fired two shots up in the air while giving a speech advocating marxist revolutionary anarchism.
- He stored a large cache of weapons in his basement for the revolution they were planning.
etc. etc.

Western Canada should begin preparing for separation. When the Liebranos change the electoral system to give themselves continuous governance, it should be obvious this is all about power and money and the public be damned!

The Liberal & NDP ship of fools! Just look at those stupid, blank and empty faces. The lights are on but nobody is home.
commented 2016-02-04 18:32:01 -0500
This is a direct attack on the west, and he and his commies can expect a resounding voice of separation to grow. I never thought I would be ready to divide my country, but since the politicians have already caused the great divide, I’m now on board. We in the west will not survive unless we take matters into our own hands.

If trudope says yes to the pipeline,he will probably lose Butt head and then he wouldn’t be able to come up with any answers.
commented 2016-02-04 18:17:14 -0500
Thank goodness he did not give that answer in both official languages. As it was, he was the typical liberal and politician. Run down the picket fence with a foot on either side and pray you don’t step into a hole. The long and short of his answer is that he has absolutely no intention to give a go ahead for the pipeline, regardless of any study — and it would not matter if the studies all showed beyond a reasoned doubt that they were safe — he would still say no. One would think that in his early years his daddy may well have taught him to hate anything was of Ottawa and east of Quebec.

Unless we join the US. And then there is the problem of Notley. What to do with our current communist wanna be Alberta government.
commented 2016-02-04 17:52:38 -0500
I, too, am all for Alberta separation, but unless BC joins us, we will just be a land locked country with no way to get our oil to market.

I also wonder why he keeps chirping about making E.I easier to get ? I have not heard anything about paying more out in premiums so I think that approach is a non factor …living in Central Alberta trying to make payment on an E.I is very tough I believe let alone the more remote area`s ..I have not tried so I admit I`m no expert on the matter…but even if folks are given easy access I don`t believe E.I premiums can keep a family afloat… there will be no extra going into a troubled economy so this seems like another example of how out of touch with the west he truly is
commented 2016-02-04 17:26:28 -0500
western succession does not have to be the final answer but it will probably need to become a viable option …currently not having any option does not seem to leave the west with much hope
