I was on vacation during the first anniversary of the Charlie Hebdo terror attacks, so I'm just looking at the magazine's commemorative issue now.
(LANGUAGE AND CONTENT WARNING:)
A lot of people who support Charlie Hebdo on principle have never actually seen an issue of the magazine, so I'll go through this one with you.
I have to say, starting with the cover, I'm not that jazzed about it.
Now, I want to temper my criticism with reverence, because the people who still work at Charlie Hebdo are very brave. But they still insist on seeing all religions and believers as the enemy, not just Islam and Muslims.
At one point, they call the Buddha "fat." There aren't a lot of places where that will get you in trouble.
It's sad that the bravest cartoon is from a 13 year old kid.
