Ontario budget: "We're on the road to hell"

Marissa SemkiwArchive

Toronto Sun columnist Anthony Furey tells me the new Ontario budget puts us "on the road to hell."

What really matters, he says, is how much the debt is going up.

The actual number may scare you.

To put this into perspective, the Ontario Liberals have nearly doubled spending since coming into office, from $65 billion in 2003-2004 to $132 billion in 2015-2016.

How does the Ontario budget compare to the new federal one?

By one important measure, Wynne's budget is three times worse.

What do you think of Wynne's budget? Tell us in the comments!

Someone mentioned the media being “nice” to the Ontario budget. That is an understatement – they were drooling all over it! And this is a budget that is running a multi-billion dollar deficit! Yet, the same media blasted the federal budget which is showing a surplus, and which is giving taxpayers back some of their own money! Talk about hypocrisy! Good points, Anthony!

Sorry, Peter. You’re right; you really don’t need any more left-leaning dingbats in Edmonton!

Like that guy Furey, should have him more often on the Rebel.

The problem starts with terrible education. People are too dumbed down to grocery shop, vote or even to pull their head in when they close a window.

There is only one way to break the Liberal stranglehold in Ontario (short of raising the voting age to 25, requiring an IQ and Civics test to vote, and implementing as voting requirement having been gainfully employed and paid taxes in the last year)…

Split Toronto off as a separate province and let “Premier” Wynne and her merry band of degenerates ruin it to her heart’s content. That way, the rest of us can vote in leaders with a sense of probity and fiscal responsibility and get out of the mess we are currently in courtesy of dirty urban entitlement politics.

Wayne: “Will Ontario be downgraded to a territory instead of a province?”
I know that that was probably a joke, but if it wasn’t, then the answer is no. The federal government can carve up existing territories to create more territories or provinces (e.g. look how much the Northwest Territories have shrunk since the 1870s), but provinces can’t just be altered at will. I don’t think that the constitution or Supreme Court would allow it.

Valerie – " … if you must bring them, you’ll be happiest in Redmonton."

no, no, no, no! We do not what more left wing voters here in Alberta. :)

“Leave your left-leaning tendencies in Ontario”

yes, yes, yes.

Good to see Anthony Furey! He’s a good singer too! Ontario isn’t “on the road to Hell”; they arrived in Hell when Whinny got a majority. It’s all over, folks! Time to come to Alberta. Leave your left-leaning tendencies in Ontario but if you must bring them, you’ll be happiest in Redmonton.

" will soon take my wealth/productivity west "

I’ll greet you at the door.

" only if they remain klepto-free (no Dips, Libs, Progs) in Alta and Sask,"

Not if I have anything to say about it. Oh, wait! I do have a say, on May 5th!

“You’ll forgive me I don’t share a bus seat with the rest of you on your road to hell.”

Awww… come on! I saved you a seat! :)

You’ll forgive me I don’t share a bus seat with the rest of you on your road to hell. I will be putting assets and investments out of sight of these prehensile kleptocrats and will soon take my wealth/productivity west – only if they remain klepto-free (no Dips, Libs, Progs) in Alta and Sask,

Ontarion has been, and will continue to be on that road until Wynne and her boffins are ousted from office

The french revolution started with a financial crisis. Will Ontario do the same? Will Ontario be downgraded to a territory instead of a province? Ontario can not pull down the rest of Canada with its provincial debt forever.

And with this in mind, the Media Party will do everything it can to tarnish the Wildrose, so as to NOT have a fiscally responsible government in power…

Well, if the PCs or the NDP take government in Alberta, we will be following Ontario down that same path to hell.

It appears, if polls are to be believed, that the NDP since the last Alberta debate are poised to form the government with an estimated 38 seat projection of 87, which would place them in a minority government. The NDP would be seriously bad for Alberta as they would spend and tax, tax and spend on every social program they could possibly think up.

What a depressing thought.

the left would make you think the conservatives have been miserly in their management, can you imagine what it would of been like if they were in power…oh katie wynn is your example….

Anthony Furey!! Nice to see you on therebel again and nice to hear you sing. You could probably make it as a grade-B crooner. (That’s a compliment.). You have the moves.

What should/can we in Ontario do but build a survivalist fortress in the woods?

Did you notice how nice the media was to the Liberal government budget?
commented 2015-04-24 19:30:16 -0400
The Kathleen Wynne government is the road to hell for all of Canada. Thanks, liberals.
